Guinness Battered Onion Rings

Recipe by Lunasea: Guinness Battered Onion Rings/saved
A nice recipe. Looks like the type restaurants would serve up.
The coating doesn't seem to get that much darker after it is a golden brown. So leave it in the oil for a little longer if you wish.
My bottle of Guinness was only 11.2oz instead of 12 so my batter was just a little thicker than spec'ed.
    Tastes good too.

Those look nice and crisp! Love the color you got on them. I have never made onion rings but Michael sure would appreciate it if I did :)

Pic looks a little darker than they actually were. Overcast day. No flash. Overhead light out. Didn't take the time to adjust the pic proper.

Rings were softly crunchy. Noticed the sweetness of the onion the most. Have some batter and flour left over. May try some broccoli stalks, peeled and cut up, in the oil. Have a broccoli dish coming up and it's always a challenge to do something with the stalks.

I like the taste that Guinness adds to food. It is great in stews. Sounds like Guinness is the same as sugar and tuna - 11.2 oz for the price of 12, 4 pounds for the price of 5 and 5 oz for the price of 6. <sigh>
