I cut the butter and mayo in half, the amounts are way to much IMO. Still to much after cutting in 1/2, so 1/3's would have been perfect, leaving the cheese and other amounts the same. My daughter didn't like it, but I thought it had good flavor, the recipe just needs to be adjusted in ratios. I actually made this one time before, and forgot about it in the broiler...so it was not able to be saved :( but didn't forget this time lol!

First time I had mayo on a bread like this, I was hesitant... don't like hot mayo, doesn't sound "right"...but, it was really good! I DID cut the amount, though.

I think for this, I'd use half the butter and a couple T of mayo, prolly.

    Gorgeous photo, though, luv!!

I've a loaf of french bread recipe waiting in the wings. This recipe just might provide the impetus to make it. And of course I'll have to dig out a nice pasta recipe as well.

Ooh, my hot mayonnaise aversion is kicking in. But, maybe mixed in with butter I could handle. It looks wonderfully tasty!

I feel bad rating this 3 stars, but if I would have used the full amount of butter and mayo, this would have been completely ruined, or wasted ingredients....I can't imagine slathering a cup of butter on this! Eeekk!

Curious, did you use a large loaf of bread as directed or a baguette? That could change the outcome although I wouldn't think there would be that much surface difference.

I'm afraid of the mayo too. :) But it does sound intriguing and your picture does look yummy Michelle! :)

This was the large one, sure of it...
You know, I have never given much thought to hot mayo until being around you people! Good thing it still doesn't bother me lol!

Under the recipe tab and then by ingredient type in chicken for the first ingredient then mayo for the second. See where that will get you.

Yep, oven fried chicken. I knew it. When I was trying out various oven fried chicken recipes, I skipped the ones with mayonnaise. There are bunches of them. :-/
