    Cream Cheese And Onion Omelet

Really not much to say about this that I didn't say on the recipe, itself. Very nice combo, easy, even as far as omelets go. :-)

Thanks for joining us for a weekend breakfast, MP! ;-)

That's a tasty looking picture, Keni. I kind of have to laugh at MrP's serving size. 8 eggs and everything else for two servings. I couldn't eat that much if I tried! :D

    Thanks, guys! :-)

And, yeah, Frankie, around here, his serving size is pretty much right on for about half the eaters I might be feeding...the rest of us, maybe a tad over much!

Im glad you liked this. I make it pretty often. Mine never looks like that tho......What a great pic. I really need to go get something to eat. I should NEVER come here hungry. Its torture. What a perfect looking omelet. Thanks for trying : )

I think my serving sizes are perfect Ya'll just eat too little : ) The worst part about eating is having to stop because you're full :P

G4U, I hope you get a chance to try it. And like it, too

Your so funny Mr P! It's better than going to the grocery store hungry...BAD idea!

I've had this bookmarked since it was posted and was gonna make it a long time ago when I realized I was out of cream cheese. Forgot after that, so good reminder!! That picture is fantastic Keni!

Yeh I try not to shop while hungry. But thats not easy. That would mean that I would have to shop after eating. And after eating, I dont have/feel the same need for food :( I havent figured out the perfect system for shopping, yet. I have things in the cupboard that I will probably never use due to hungry shopping episodes

I hope you get a chance to try it, ML@C

I made this for lunch today and used only 2 eggs and I am stuffed! The nice additions of onions and cream cheese kicks this up a big step from an ordinary Omelet to almost decadent!!! Great post Mr. P.:-)

I officially am not a great omelet maker. I browned this up a little too much, and did a HORRIBLE job of flipping it! Regardless though, I liked the flavor the cream cheese gave to this! Perfect served with a side of salsa and some bacon! Don't make fun of my super messy picture, I know it doesn't look like an omelet lol :-P Adding a link back to this post...

Your picture looks just fine to me, but I definitely feel your pain when it comes to omelet making challenges. I might try this in the morning for my ladies.

Mom, I flip my omelets like you do your quesadillas.......just fold it I also cook them with a lid on so the top also cooks. When they are big and heavy I use 2 spatulas. I know they are supposed to be folded in 3, but they are too fat when I make em......

Glad you liked it. I think your pic looks great. Love the green onions on top. Did you cook it in bacon grease if you had bacon??

I tried "the flip" but eggs are a little flimsier than tortillas lol! To my defense this was my 2nd time to make an omelet! Also thought I could get by without 2 spatulas, just tried to use one big one :-P
I poured off most of the bacon grease and then added a touch of butter to what was left. Gave it great flavor...this is so versatile, some of that good ol' Jimmy Dean sausage crumbled up and cooked would be perfect thrown in this! Or bacon pieces! I liked as is, but the husband (who's only home for breakfast about once a month) would request one of those in this.....

I have tried and tried to make omelets with no luck. I've even watched YouTube video how-to's. No luck. Still, yours looks great, ml2c. I'd definitely dig in!

When I make them, I keep the lid on while cooking until the top is done. The flip is just for serving. I dont know if thats the proper way, but it works for me. Then I slide it out of the skillet. And when that fails, I have scrambled eggs : )

That's a good idea Mr. P! The bottom doesn't burn, or do you keep it on super low heat?

I've found that using a flat top griddle works great for omelets....As the egg start to set, fold them over slightly on top and bottom end, then fold over the sides....cook a few minutes then flip. Sorta like a burrito.

I do use a semi low heat. Not real low, tho. The bottom doesnt burn. Sometimes it starts to brown, but I like browned butter anyway : )

I'm not good at omelets because I always want to completely flip it over before I do the fold. That's because I can't stand uncooked white and feel that there's always some left uncooked if it doesn't touch the pan.

I think leaving the lid on should do the trick breezy, but I do see what your saying....I feel the same way lol!
