My New Favorite Macaroni And Cheese

Recipe by Sosousme: My New Favorite Macaroni And Cheese
    Man, I'm loosing it!
Was ready to wewe all over this recipe.
Sauce came out way too thick, like cake batter. Wouldn't fit into a 2-quart casserole dish. But it all turned out to be ME!
Pre-measured all my ingredients before starting. And while making the roux I couldn't figure out where my flour got off to. So I went to the flour tin and added the requisite amount. Unbenownst to my scatterbrain, I had already added the flour. This resulted in a very thick sauce. To remedy the problem I added another cup of milk to make the sauce loose enough to pour over the noodles. Still could have used another cup of milk to make it a loose soup as in the instructions. The 2-quart casserole was leaking out over the top and still needed more sauce added. Bumped it up to a 3-quart casserole dish so all would fit properly.
Wasn't until resting while the Mac and Cheese baked that I realized that I doubled up on the flour. Well that explains everything. No doubt this recipe would come out exactly to spec if the directions were followed out well.
It is delicious even though I fear I will need supervision in the kitchen from now on.
Going to have to make this again.
Used extra sharp cheddar and Mozzarella. Made Homemade Panko Bread Crumbs for the topping.

LOL on needing supervision in the kitchen Points! I do this quite often if I'm in a hurry, measure wrong, omit an ingredient, don't be too hard on yourself! Very nice pics!!! Looks really gooey & cheesy:)

Well, it looks good. Did you use the sour cream? I don't think I've ever seen that used as an ingredient in macaroni and cheese.

Well, it's not funny but it is. Sounds good but I just don't know if I could resist adding a bit of Velveeta. I usually use a mixture of cheeses when I make M&C anyway.
