Plain Ole Country Corn Fritters

  • pointsevenout 15 years ago
Recipe by Lanacountry. Recipe comes out exactly to directions. I think I would like mine a little sweeter next time.

My first ever. Made it in a skillet with about an inch of cottonseed oil.

    Posted a pic for comparison.

On my electric range the 350 degree F point seems to be just a hare below medium on the dial. I monitored it throughout the cooking process, before and after each batch, and adjusting to fine tune.

Does that sound about right for the temperature setting?

Yes, that sounds right for the temp. When I deep fry, I set it to about 375* F

I like my corn fritters with a little sugar in the batter also! I use this recipe and just sub corn for the onions....http://www.grouprecipes.com/18161/amish-onion-patties.html

Made corn fritters before. Pretty sure I used sugar, remember them being slightly sweet. They are a lot better eaten the first day, and while still hot. The same is true with most deep fried foods.
