    Root Beer Barbecue Beans/saved

I know these were made by Frankie a long time ago, but now sure if it got put here and I sure as heck didn't feel like looking for it lol!
This is a great way to spice up canned beans! I was worried about them tasting to much like root beer but no worries, they didn't! I also have a weird thing about molasses, sometimes I hate it in certain things...but it was fine in these. Served these along with Chicken Nuggets With Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

I love baked beans. I wouldnt have tried these because I would not want the strong root beer flavor. Good to know that it wasnt there. Not that I dont like root beer. I love the stuff. Just not root beer flavored food or pulled pork.. Great Pic, ML2C

The poster says they have a nice root beer flavor but I didn't really get any at all, I do think they added a different type of sweetness, which wasn't a bad thing...

I've made these three times. And - no - there isn't much of a root beer taste at all. Those are good beans. I love your picture!

When you guys cooked the bacon with the onions, didnt the onions get WAY beyond "transparent" Seems like cooking the bacon until its brown and crisp would take much longer than it takes the onions to get transparent

I think I remember that the bacon doesn't really get that crisp when cooked with the onions because the onions release too much liquid. I made a mental note to self to cook them separately next time.

I actually cooked the bacon for a while before adding the onions...
