Root Beer Barbecue Beans

- 5 slices bacon, diced shopping list
- 1 medium onion, diced shopping list
- 2 (16-ounce) cans of beans, preferably Bush’s baked beans shopping list
- 1 cup root beer (regular, not diet) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons dark molasses shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper shopping list
- 2 to 3 whole ribs celery shopping list
How to make it
- Cook the bacon with the onions in a medium saucepan over a grill or side burner until the bacon is brown and crisp, and the onions have become transparent and are just starting to brown.
- Add all of the remaining ingredients.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; then reduce the heat and simmer, stirring often, until the mixture is slightly thickened, about 20 minutes.
- Remove the celery and serve the beans hot.

These were easy to make and had a great flavor to them...We actually put all of the ingredients into a crockpot and let them simmer for a few hours....Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe with us!!!
