Rustic Chili - by Keni

Mmmm sooo good! The heat was excellent, surprising enough, thought it would be too hot for me, and I like the heat and spices, but we enjoyed it. Mr. "Parsnickity pants" wants ground beef added to make more of a meat sauce with steak chunks...(there was enough steak to sink a ship added!) Have enough leftover to make another meal .. YUM!

    Rustic Chili

OOps can't seem to post a copy of recipe photo! (see recipe for photo)

I like that name too! I may steal it for a couple people I know :) I can't believe he wanted more meat lol! Did you use the red wine, or the balsamic? I don't have red wine in my house ever so I would probably use the balsamic, but couldn't imagine how it would taste in this! Anyway, great pics, love your beautiful dallop of sour cream on top!

Thanks everyone! Hey Mommyluvs, I used red wine as I had some on hand, if you use the balsamic to let us know how it works! If I hadn't been present when "Mr. Parsnickity Pants" was born, I would think we were not part of the same gene pool!! LOL

I used the balsamic! Delish - although I didn't measure and probably didn't use the full amount.

I made this a couple nights ago and it was a great chili recipe! I'm not sure if I've ever made chili with cubed beef, only ground beef, but we really enjoyed this and it was nice and SPICY!!! So FA and Points would be needing to cut back on that some :P I forgot to get the black eyed peas darnit, but I did have 2 cans of black beans so I just used both. Also I didn't have the red wine so I used the balsamic, which I thought would be over powering, but it was perfect. Added my pic.

Your photo looks awesome, Michelle! I can't take that kind of spice, but like the idea of using cubed beef instead of ground. Hmmm, I might have to try it in my tried and true recipe.

Thanks Bakerme! Yeah cubed beef is quite a bit different than ground beef in chili. This recipe though would probably be too spicy for a lot of people...just take it easy!!

I agree, beautiful pic Michelle:) I see where Lobster had a dollop of sour cream, that would help tone down the spiciness a bit!

I've only tried two of Keni's recipes, the cream of soup base and her rhubarb muffins, and we liked both of them. I want to try her Lynchburg sweet potatoes and Alabama sheet cake, but haven't gotten around to them yet. I can't do spicy spice, and most of hers (and a lot of others) are so spicy that they're off my list :( I'm sure I'm missing out on some good recipes.

I'd have to can the cayenne and jalapeno and go minimum on the other flame spices.
