How to make it

  • Combine all ingredients in slow cooker and cook on low for at least 8 hours, up to 12 or so.
  • Stir occasionally after the first hours, and remove lid an hour or so prior to serving, if desired, to thicken.

    Great take on a classic. I skip a coupla steps, use chipotle peppers pickled and canned in adobo sauce, gives a great kick! Thanks, old El Paso ;)

    lobster ate it and said...
    Mmmm sooo good! The heat was excellent, surprising enough, thought it would be too hot for me, and I like the heat and spices, but we enjoyed it. Mr. "Parsnickity pants" wants ground beef added to make more of a meat sauce with steak chunks...(there was enough steak to sink a ship added!) Have enough leftover to make another meal .. YUM!
