Smoked Sausage and Sauce

  • pointsevenout 15 years ago
    Recipe by flipflop.

A sweet and heat recipe for over rice and it's very nice. I doubled and modified the recipe for Linguine. Could use some salt and maybe a little cornstarch to thicken it just a little. The sauce is very good for a quick 5 minute simmer.

Mother slurped down two plates. Added a picture so you could see it both over rice and pasta.

No greasy aftertaste on this one.

That sounds great! And you used the same brand of sausage as before? You are speaking in rhymes now too!
One thing I noticed about Points, once he picks a theme, he just sticks to it all week, wether it be beans, soup, bread pudding or sausage! LOL

That recipe looks really good, pso. Picture does, too.

I've notice that, too, juels. Makes his reviews kind of interesting, doesn't it. Kind of like a comparison shopper guy. :)

Unfortunately not the same brand of sausage. I bought several brands of smoked sausage while at the store. Variety, you know. These were the ring and long link sausages sold in pound packages.
Normally when I buy smoked sausage, it is the skinless smoked sausages that are shaped to resemble an oversized hotdog and come in 3 pound packages. I look for the ones with the least salt content. Nuke them and eat in hotdog buns. So my experience with real smoked sausage is limited.
I can see where the reviews could be seen as flawed because of how each manufacturer has their own packing process. But IMHO it should be very similar.

Sorry about the rhyme. Didn't do it on purpose. Had to go back and reread to see what you saw.
