Sourdough Coffee Cake

    This little piggy ate half of the cake. Yum, yum, yum! Pat my head and rub my stomach.
    Truthfully I don't know if I could taste the sourdough flavor, it being camouflaged with all the sugars and cinnamon.
    Bits of the topping sink down through the batter giving it a streaky look. And the larger bits will make it all the way to the bottom yielding a little sticking issue. I only let mine cool for a half hour but maybe a longer cool time might make it release better or coat the greased pan with flour.

I have been experimenting with my starter lately and have been pouring off the "hooch." It makes for a thicker starter, of course, and I am hoping it also means more flavor. I need to make a plain ol' loaf of bread to get a real test.
