My first time trying hearts of palm...I tried a piece by itself and honestly did not care for it, but I still went on making this, thinking that the vinaigrette would make it taste better. It did, but I still think I may not use them again...lol. Besides that this was very tasty and creative, not to mention very elegant looking. I didn't have the tarragon vinegar so I just used some white wine vinegar and whisked in a couple shake of dried tarragon... I gave it 5 stars because it's just my taste preference in not caring for the HOP, and without it I would have LOVED it!

I think I've only used them twice... I don't love them, but I did use them a couple times. I think I posted a Polynesian salad recipe.

This is so pretty in the avocado, though! :)

I've never had hearts of palm before either. Someone (can't remember who) I know had them and said they didn't like them. Do they taste like "anything" or just themselves. Did you have tarragon vinegar? I don't think I've ever seen that!
    The picture is beautiful.

Thanks Keni, it really did turn out pretty!

I plan on trying this again minus the HOP. Guess now I have an opened jar that I might just trash :( Oh well it didn't put a huge dent in the wallet at least.

They have really weird flavor Frankie, hard to explain. I thought they would taste more pickled, but they don't, kinda flat and bitter maybe? I used white wine vinegar whisked with a little dry tarragon...

I'm sure I've had HoP but just can't remember. Perhaps a neighbor would take them off your hands--I hate wasting food. Beautiful photo setup.

Well, from the sounds of things, you will have to give them to a neighbor you don't like much. hehe :)
