Recipe by Phwriter11: Tasty Wheat Buns Wish I could say this recipe came out exactly to spec. But because of my malreading of the instructions, I only did two rises. This recipe calls for 3 rises. Probably would give the buns even more flavor. Other than that, the recipe came out exactly to spec, good gluten formation and all. Divide the dough 2x3x2 to get 12 buns. I was expecting more bubbles in the sponge but it worked. Tasted one while still steamy hot. They will be served up with some Irish Stew for lunch.
I like the looks of these, too. I think I may have to put aside my bread machine for a day and try these out. I love the picture, pso. The crusts looks shiny. Is this a hard roll or is that just because of the egg wash?
