gonna make a turkey meatloaf. My neice might come for dinner and she has a gluten allergy so I sub the breadcrumbs out for instant potato flakes. Points if you don't use up those boxes that mother put in the cart that is a good use for them, works well with meatballs too!
I hope everyone has a better day today. Makes me realise what an easy life I have, I mean I worry about money as much as everyone else but hubby has a secure job & I am living my dream life. NYM & everyone else this is a great & supportive group to vent so DO NOT feel bad about telling us your Aches. We may not be able to help but we can listen and sometimes it just makes you feel better to get it off your chest.
Had a little war here tonight. My youngest's air conditioner broke last night and so hubby said well you can just sleep in your sister's room. Well the youngest would give you the shirt of her back but the oldest not so much. She didn't want her in her room so I said she was selfish and she started crying and talking back to me (which she does all to often) Well hubby just lost it and that Sicilian temper came a flaring out. She was sent to bed and has to go to bed tonight at 7pm. With the threat of going to bed at 7 everynight during summer vacation. She still hasn't emerged from her room. Don't you guys miss the pre teen age???
Gonna clean my house & then sit by the pool with my book for the rest of the afternoon & see who shows up LOL

OH Laurie...I remember when my daughter who was a cuddler and watch-tv-with-mom kind of girl until 6th grade...then aliens invaded and my daughter disappeared. She's 17 now, and I catch occasional glimpses of her...lol

I hate when I have to miss all the late night fun in here...LOL Bryan did treat me to Mexican last night. I always get the same thing at this place, and so does Bryan. We decided to get something different, and I got fajitas (a favorite of mine, but, I'd never gotten them at this place). Anyway, huge disappointment - I hate when they don't have tomatoes in the mix of sauteed veggies!! I don't eat green pepper, so, I had chicken and onions on tortillas, and no shredded cheese. : (

Dr appt at 3:40 this afternoon. I'm hoping he can help me get my life back! And without more testing and dr appts (yeah, right). My boss will have a conniption fit if I have to take more of the vacation and sick time that is available to me. She wants us HERE. Especially these next 4 weeks while we are trying to me. The fact that she has a problem with her shoulder that the drs can't find doesn't help. She's decided to live with it, and she thinks I should, too. Well, that's all fine and dandy for her...but...I truly can't live this way. Even if I have to get a walker for the house and a scooter for when I go to wally world or somewhere, something has to be done! What's wrong with me is so weird sounding, that she really doesn't get it. She doesn't see me on the weekends or at night, so, she just doesn't get it. What a petard.

No cooking tonight. Gotta go to Home Depot and Wally World after work. Need to do laundry, too. Hopefully, my hip/leg will cooperate with me.

Well, aren't I just little miss sunshine today!! Hope everyone has a fantabulous day...I'm going to! ; )

Laurieq - I often use oatmeal instead of breadcrumbs in meatloafs. Just a thought. Hmmm maybe make your oldests the room with out the airconditioner. See -- not a mom so I can dream up all sorts of evil punishments with impunity < grins wickedly >

Hugs and prayers the doctor comes up with something useful for you Sparow.

I have some of the BROCIOLE (ROLLED STUFFED BEEF) leftovers extracted from the freezer. Made it a few weeks back. Should be perfect for an early raid night.

After that the available food stuffs in this house are pretty much depleted. Gasp -- I may have to cook something. That's okay I've had a bit of a break and am almost ready to brave a grocery store again.

Wooo, LaurieG--I remember those times, only with boys it is different. They want to ARGUE with you throughout the entire duration of their punishment, be it 12 hours or 72! Let me tell you---you will be a STRONGER WOMAN when she is older. Trust me! LOL

Lawwwd, y'all. I'm still basking in the afterglow of my dinner last night---the beer can chicken on the grill. So today's dinner is going to be Sparow's Black Tie Bistro chicken salad (woot!) (posted) and for dessert---Midgelet's new Vanilla slice recipe. I'm excited to try that. Going to run by the gourmet store out West this afternoon to pick up the vanilla lattice wafers it calls for.

Bratty One is getting a haircut before he leaves on his beach trip in about 10 days. I will miss him terribly for a week. This trip has cost us so much $$$ already, even though he did earn $100 of it himself! Gah!

Good luck at the doctor today, Lori...

Got one lonely cubanelle that's ready for picking and some leftover ham from the other night so it's Denver Omelettes and home fries for supper tonight.

Had some left over mascarpone cheese mixture from the other night so last night I cooked up a little puff pastry and made napoleons with the cheese (added a smidge of vanilla)and some sliced peaches and blueberries.....Gotta say, it was a nice light hit the spot dessert

Pat, that steak and tomatoes (you know I'm addicted to those!) sound good, but I've got such a boatload of potato salad still leftover from Sat, that I'm truly sick of it - had every day for lunch and once for dinner since then - ugh - what was I thinking by making so much!

NYM, I luuuuv pulled pork sandwiches! How's Charlie Brown?

Laurie, LOL, I think Otter's idea is a good one, but then again I only have 1 son, so I didn't have the "joys" of sibling rivalries!

Lori, sorry your dinner was disappointing, I hate when that happens! Hope the dr. can give you some answers on your pain situ.

Lillian, do we need to do an intervention? LOL

Knox, where is the brat going?

Wynne, I love Denver omelettes and especially for dinner!

I've got a big 'ol round steak marinating and gonna grill it for French dip sandwiches on french rolls with a lot of hot horseradish and au jus - maybe some of that DAMN potato salad on the side! Oh yeah, and some of those broiled cheesy tomatoes of Pat's.

Gonna take Mom for a walk again today if this fog ever lifts. Weird to be foggy this time of year?

Came up with a game plan. Going to make some pancakes. That's the easy part. Also making some cherry preserves to slather on top instead of syrup. That should be soft enough to eat! Going to take a couple of hours to process so I might wait until tomorrow, depending on how hungry I get. Today is my PO visit day and all I need is something heavy to put on my stomach that will put me lights out.

Washed, stemmed and stoned 2 pounds of Bing cherries for this project. Not sure how long it's going to take to get the stain off my hands. Maybe I can explain it away by telling that I got rid of some nuisance neighbors, dismembered them and haven't been able to get out all of the stains.

Oh man, ordering a pizza at 11 o'clock at night might have made me feel like a little kid, but my stomach reminded me this morning that I am not! LOL

Rainy days have set upon us again I believe. No big downpours but sure is putting a damper on the girls' plans. Their church was heading to the Aquatic Center again tonight. Probably not now. Oh well, there is always next week.....

I fell for the teen thing...Lord, give me the strength not to choke the crap out of Jess next time she runs her mouth at me...amen

Sis #2 heard from BIL last night. He says the traffic in Bois D'Arc (gah, that's a pain to type, pronounced Bo Dark) has been freaking ridiculous! You have to keep in mind this is an itty bitty town about 5 blocks big, no stores (unless you count the junk flea market), 1 post office, a volunteer fire dept., elementary school only (kids head to Ash Grove for middle and high school) and 3 churches. (haha) Train track runs through right across the field from my childhood home about 20 yards away. Yeah, I had a blast growing up there! NOT!

Anyway, I guess the show will be interviewing friends and neighbors at the elementary school where I was educated as a young'un, which BIL works at. Should be cool to watch in the Fall....will let everyone know when it is on. Maybe they can get an idea of how life was for me. :)~~

I didn't get it either! And I know y'all didn't forget li'l ol me, Miss Judy! lol

Back from the Dr. I basically have arthritis and bursitis of someone 20-30 years my senior. Gonna eventually need hip replacement, but, he doesn't want to do that yet, at my age. Good thing, cause he's not gonna do that until it's do or die anyway. Gave me a cortisone shot, hurt like you know what. Says we will just have to try different things. See him in 6 weeks. Can't take Celebrex cause I'm allergic to sulfa drug. Have to keep taking the OTC stuff I've been taking. Gonna have to see about shoes that absorb the shock of walking, maybe some inserts, etc. And, if I have to go to wally world on a bad day, I'm just gonna have to get the power scooter. Lawd lawd, as Judy would say. I have road rage from you know where, and am a speed demon...can you see me in wally world on one of those? I'd be on America's Most Wanted with Points...him for dismembering neighbors, and me for running down the idiots in wally world that stand in the middle of the aisle and won't move...I can see it now...LOL

    Thanks for all the well-wishes.

Hungry Hungry...used my lunch break to go to the dr...spending the next 30 minutes deciding which palce I want to drive through...and here it is about to storm. Anybody besides me not like doing groceries in the rain?

Points you are too funny, just don't let the PO see your hands. Boy, you'd have some splaining to do.

Lori, big hugs....I'll be right behind running over the petards in WallyWorld. I've got the sulfa allergy too, makes the docs nuts prescribing doesn't it?

Fred is really upset we can't go to Trivia. Just can't do it. Not enough in the coffers today, he'll just have to suffer with my cooking.

Groceries in the rain is a regular occurence here......I just give up and get drenched. Can not walk, carry bags and an umbrella. Simply not coordinated enough.

RE: Teens....let's just say, a certain someone decided slamming her door as loudly as possible was her way to retaliate and then lock it too. Well I fixed her little red wagon. I took the door off the hinges and hid the pins. Lack of privacy just about killed her. Smart cookie went into my sewing box and got a length of black fabric and thumbtacked it to her door frame. May have given her privacy somewhat, but she couldn't slam it anymore either. Kept it that way all summer long too.

I hope that all the aches and pains ease for my friends....you are the best. I'm sending heartfelt hugs your way.

Lori, hope this shot helps. You are too young for a hip replacement, however, who's to say what the "right" age is. I've heard that it's one of the most painful operations there is, (sorry for that tidbit) but I've also heard it was the "smartest thing" they ever did from a couple people. Completely pain free. So...... when the time comes, maybe you'd be happy wit it.

Never fails, it could be the sunniest day on the planet and if I go to Costco in the Spring, Winter or Fall, it's pouring rain when I come out. Has happened more times than I can remember! Hate it.

That's a good one Tina! Funny. Best thing I ever did to my kids, and they still talk about it, was when my son was a smart aleky no it all 16 year old, was acting like his daddy, and since I couldn't divorce the SON, but had already divorced the dad, and aurewasn't going to put up with the son acting like that...lol anyway, he and his sister who is 6 years his jr were fighting constantly...the 10 year old girl didn't understad why the 16 year old boy didn't play with her anymore...the more she whined, the angrier he got...so, one day I'd had ENOUGH. Made them sit on the couch, hold hands, and SMILE at each other! For 45 minutes. They never argued like that in front of me again. I'm sure they did when I was at work, but, at least I didn't have to listen to it! ha ha...thanks for the grin!

Thanks for all the well-wishes. I learned about this place in Knoxville that will make inserts for my shoes, think I will call them tomorrow. Just gotta learn what works, and to stop doin' stuff that hurts before it gets so bad.

She is just spoiled and i know its my fault, but we didn't have alot growing up basically raised on Welfare with a single parent that worked all the time. I was the youngest of 5 and about 5 years behind the last one but they are all 2 years apart..when sis #3 and #4 were young teens my mom did about the same thing. They were fighting all the time and mom had had enough. Made them sit on the loveseat up close to each other, put their arms around and give each other a kiss on the cheek. And yes I got to watch! lol, laughing now but didn't dare laugh then, mom did have to go to work and leave me with them after all!

I don't think Jess has slammed the door since Fat Fart (yeah, his new name) told her he would take the door off the hinges....so that is a good plan!

Thanks Pat. I'm sure it's coming sooner than later. We'll have to see ow it goes. I awnt my life back, I can tell you that. Have had a better day yesterday and today, but, I laid on the couch on the other side from 7pm til bed Sat ngiht, and basically all day Sun. (stopped here at the computer for 10 minuets or so a very few times). I can't do that every weekend! So, tonight, when I get off, I went to Home Depot, and of course, the two little things I needed were on opposite sides of the store. Decided to drive home (35 min) eat a sandwich, then go to KMart and Ingles here for groceries. Went to KMart, needed laundery stuff,a nd stuff for the tomatoes, and looked through 2 or 3 clearance ailes. Before I could get to the check out my thigh was buccling every fe steps and I am limping. OMG! How in the sam hill am I supposed to function? Now, I still need to go to the grocery store, and you can forget going up and down steps to do even a load of laundry...

I'm sorry gang. I am just really depressed and frustrated and feel like an exploding petard! I get that I can't go like I could a few years ago...but geeeeez...I'd hardly consider what I did today a stressful day as far as too much walking, etc. Now if I'd gone all over the mall, all over wally world, and then to the grocery store, yeah. ANYWAY. Poor Bryan, he works so hard, 12 hour shifts and he's not sitting at a desk. Has been doing all the housework for the most part, ALL the yardwork...and I couldn't even go get him some sandwich stuff to pack in his lunch tomorrow night.

I know...Little Miss Pitty is having another party...wish she'd stop it! lol

OK...time to take a big girl pill and deal with it, huh?
