March Madness Monday

Been up for a couple hours now feeding and repotting some plants. Drew up the window shades and threw back the sash. And what to my waiting eyes should appear is the first beams of sunlight loving my plants dear.

Have some beautiful heavily stalked plants with just a couple of lower leaves with a tinge of yellow. Just hard to believe a plant looking that healthy could be coming down with disease. A lot of them are over a foot tall now. But it's time to start some more seeder trays so new plants will be up in time for the last projected frost which is usually the second week in April. But I remember a couple three years back when we had a killer frost on Easter Sunday which trashed my grapes and strawberries.

So I'll be playing in the dirt today, inside.

Still have cold cuts for sammies and left over spaghetti and meatballs for today. Quick and easy so I can get back to planting more tomato seeds.

MMM...don't remember the last time I made stir fry! Used to be at least a monthly thing! Gonna put that on my grocery list for this week!

Maybe ham leftovers with different sides tonight...not sure. Bryan's first day back to work since Dec 7. Want to have him a good dinner, we had ham last night and he took it for lunch, so I don't know...he may want to let the ham rest for a meal! lol Have to think about it. Just heard from him, and two of the machines are down, so he's had a fairly easy day so far. Not so good for Kimberly Clark, but it's good for his back!

Yeah, Wynne, when are you leaving? Can I be a stowaway? Or can I stowaway with you, Ang? ; )

Y'all know that reeeeeally heavy trunk? That one all the guys are cussing about since they have to lift it and lug it? Yeah. That will be ME stowing away with y'all! I did it last year with LeClare---and I truly think it's why poor ol' Bryan's back is messed up, LOL! LOL!

Not sure yet, but I think (maybe, maybe?) we will make it down to Mississippi to see our dear friends who make the world-famous caramel cakes some time this summer. Perhaps! We can only do a 2-3 day vacation----our cats won't stand for anything more. Last time Miss Nubb was so freaked out when we got home that she wouldn't let us go for 2 whole days and nights, LOL!

Dinner tonight is some roast chicken and potato chunks with salad and crusty bread for them---I will do with a small portion of chicken and salad--no bread! I strayed a bit off the starvation plan for a couple days there and need to get back on the wagon!

Still figuring out what to make for dinner - I have some chicken boobs in the freezer - might do something with them - might be in the mood for pineapple chicken...to serve over the last of the brown rice - remind me again not to make so much rice the next time! my lordy-be, I must have made over 8 cups of the stuff!

today is national pig day and peanut butter lovers day - so I might end up making peanut butter cookies - one of my faves.

anyone on suggestions for a food processor that does almost everything? Still seeking to get one that you all like using yourselves...

Sounds like your plants are doing better P7O. Good luck!
    Caramel cake sounds delish, Knox.

Well, just heard from Bryan and he does want to let the ham rest a meal...can't say I blame him. You'd think I had never cooked a meal...took me over an hour to decide what I could do that would be done when he gets home...(i'll have an hour and a half, mind you! lol). Gonna have to stop at the store, but that will be ok. Finally decided on Crispy Parmesan Chicken Breasts (posted) Mac n Cheese, and Baked parmesan tomatoes florentine, cause he likes them. (here's the link, they are here in the group somewhere)

Think I will either do a tossed salad or some slaw, and probably dessert. First shift in 3 months, I'd say I will have a tired, hunry man on my hands, and more than likely one that has a sore back...

Sandwich put me to sleep after messing with the tomato plants this morning. Ran to the store for another quart spray can for the fungicides. Have one ex-windex spray can that has a chemical fungicide/insecticide in it that I have been using instead of going organic. But emptied out and rinsed another ex-windex spray can for my baking soda foliar fungicide (organic). And the one from the store for the cornmeal foliar fungicide (organic). While I was there, spotted a dry material sprayer. Just right to spray diatomaceous earth (also organic) under the leaves to attack any sucking insects like mites and aphids. Supposed to be like walking on glass shards for the little creatures.

Guess I should be writing this in the Organic Gardening group.

Anyhooo, Not going to get around to starting the seed trays until tomorrow. And the left over spaghetti is still staring at me through the fridge with those big meatball eyes. I can feel it.

LOL Points...Makes me think of the Geico commercial with the eyes "I always feel like, somebody's watchin' me..."

Think I'm gonna make a chocolate cake pudding...and since I'm going to the store anyway, I'll pick up a little thing of vanilla ice cream to top it with. He'll get a really good meal tonight for working all day...of course, he might be a little disappointed tomorrow nite when he comes home to a ham sandwich...ha ha ha... oh yeah, better get an extra tomato for sandwiches. lol

Oh and BTW. The Honey Roasted Pork Loin was fabulous. I changed up the heat and cook time a bit. My loin was over double the size of what the recipe called for. The sauce became this beautiful reddish brown color. I did add a bit of cornstarch to thicken it up a bit. Very good drizzled over the pork.
