Thursday's Tetrazzini.....

  • chuckieb 7 years ago
    Good Morning Everyone!

Now you explained it Karen, I have seen those zero mower things. They do indeed look like they can turn on a dime. It might take a bit of getting used to driving one though, I can see that! :)

    Making
    Tetrazzini
for dinner this evening. Haven't had it in forever and it's a comfort food for me. :)

Jim and I are giving blood this morning. Picking up a friend on the way to join us as well. Maybe go out for lunch afterwards? Also need to grab a few groceries.

Didn't have the greatest sleep last night and actually had a dream I was back working at the Hardware store, and it wasn't a 'nice' dream. LOLOL. And now I've woken up I'm actually in a grumpy mood, because of this stupid dream.

Supposed to rain today. My game plan this afternoon is to do a big cleaning on my pantry. I usually do it every spring. I pull out every single item on the shelves, swab down the shelves and throw out anything expired or whatever. This spring my broken arm was still giving me grief so the job didn't get done. It always looks great once it's done.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

I've never heard or seen that type of mower, Karen but it sounds interesting.
Yum, Janet, that looks good!! Groan, I've had dreams that I was working at the bank again and it usually involved an unpleasant client.
I can't give blood because of a childhood illness but have received many transfusions and am always thankful to those that have donated.
That's not a job that I enjoy but it sure feels good when it's done.
I made pasta, yesterday, and have a loaf of bread in the oven that I will serve with Italian Meatballs and a salad.
Going to reserve the counters for the kitchen this aft. Another tick added to the list.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Does anyone believe that dreams mean something? I sometimes do and sometimes don't. I tend to think more that they are just a jumbled combination of things in our subconscious.
Sorry you didn't get a good night's rest Janet. Sniff some of your lavender, it's suppose to help relax you and perhaps lighten your mood. Good Luck on your big pantry clean, it'll be so nice when it's done. Nice that you donate blood. It's also healthy for men and women (of a certain age) to donate blood as the older we get our blood accumulates iron and it's the perfect way to deplete it. With all the iron fortified foods we eat it's the reason why in today's world it can become a problem. Tetrazzini is comfort food, yum!

Hi Bren. I'm liking the looks of your meatball recipe. It's how I make mine but I don't have measurements so your recipe is great to have them. Saved!

We have Kenpo this afternoon and that's all. I sprouted some microgreens to top sandwiches and harvested them this morning. Now I have wheatgrass growing for Bella and LD.
Got an email this a.m. that they will start grading the property for the new house today and should begin working on the foundation next week! Finally.

Morning! Yum on Tetrazzini Janet, I need to make that! I have everything but the cream of soup but I can always make it from scratch, totally easy. I would have to make it a different cream of since I’m out of mushrooms and the family doesn’t care for them anyway. Maybe I’ll make it Sunday :) I have throwback dreams all the time Janet and it’s usually of me waiting tables and I can seem to keep up and I always end up in the bathroom crying my eyes out :( That never happened in real life though, just in my dream lol.

Yum on homemade pasta, I bet your dinner will be amazing Bren!! Good luck with the counters!

Woke up earlier than the kids for once and made jam sandwich french toast for breakfast for them, found the recipe yesterday:

For the past two days I have been waking up unusually refreshed and I think it has something to do with that I started taking Magnesium pills each night before bed.

Doing the usual gym then I need to run by the bank and cash a sponsor check for the Lady Bandits. Have to clean Caiden’s fish bowl and I may start going through his toys and get rid of the one’s he doesn’t play with anymore. Best to do that while he’s at school lol! I don’t know what to make for dinner, I pulled out ground beef but we have stuff going on from 3:30-8 in the evening! Picking up Bri from tutorials then straight home to get Caiden off the bus then homework, then pitching lessons, Caiden has a game and Bri has practice and somehow I have to figure out how to do all this as Michael said he may be working a little late, ugh!!! Can I make a clone? I’ll figure it out. Wishing everyone a great day!!!

    Good morning everyone!
I have wild dreams all the time, Janet. Sometimes they throw back to work and sometimes they go back to when I was in school. I also have some hilarious dreams and when I tell Dennis what I was dreaming I crack him up. Good luck giving blood and also cleaning out your pantry.

I have never heard of that type of mower, Karen. Probably b/c we aren't looking for one one but it does sound interesting.

I will look at your meatball recipe in a bit, Bren. I hope all goes well will ordering your counters this afternoon.

Have fun a Kenpo, Linda. Very good news that they are starting to get ready for your house foundation.

It sounds like you are going to have another busy day again, Michelle. I think you have it under control, though. Lol @ making a clone:)

Den is home today with a very bad cold. He is all stuffed up and his voice is very horse. I hope it clears up soon. We are having BBQed ham steak with scalloped potatoes with steamed yellow wax beans for dinner this evening.

Nice to see Tina is back on FB for a bit. Olivia had one of those nasty things removed from her tailbone last week and now she is waiting for the plastic surgeon appointment. I remember my brother had that done and it isn't very pleasant at all!

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Whoops SP earlier Linda! Neat on the microgreens, I love them on sandwiches!! Yay on your house getting started, so exciting :)

Hope Den gets to feeling better Joce, what a bummer. I need to look on Facebook to see what Tina post, I must have looked over it or something :\ Poor Liv!

Decided on making Janet's Meatball Soup this afternoon and everyone can just eat on it when they can. I just leave it covered on the stove.

Janet, our average frost date is Oct 15. Today I'd to reach 87F so no danger of that. My tomatoes are green yet, the Roma's are ripening as we speak. I picked six HUGH green peppers so either have to do a tomato sauce or more pepper jelly.
Hate strange dreams ... I take Atenalol for bp and the dreams are weird, not nightmarish but plain weird. The spaghetti sauce was postponed until tonight so it is simmering away. Just waiting for spices and garlic cloves.

Bren, the zero turn mowers are different for sure. I was surprised that I did well with it. It takes a lot of practice and I don't mow at a fast ground speed! I can't give blood either because we were in Germany during the big mad-cow-disease scare, so in the event we may have gotten some English beef they err on the side of caution.

Linda, I tend toward the subconscious muddle theory. Sometimes I can trace the content to an actual happening, sometimes it makes no sense.

Michelle, I must really try the cream-of soup recipe! I don't like the sodium in canned soups. A clone could come in handy sometimes for sure! One that likes to do housework. Ha ha!

Good to hear from Tina again, Joce. I did not know about Olivia. Sometimes I miss out on getting on FB or FB does not put everything on my news feed. Boo on Den not feeling well.

It is time to check the spaghetti sauce so best get moving.

    Take care.

Excellent that you managed to settle on your counter tops Bren. Your dinner sounds wonderful. I bet you make home made pasta right? Super cool.

I could totally believe that dreams sometimes mean something Linda. I don't dream a lot and the majority of my dreams are just my brain working through issues I don't beleive I've solved in day to day life so I keep churning about them. But I dream about bears about to catch and eat me on occasion and perhaps that means something. :) Never thought to look it up. Good mention on the lavender thanks. And I also have this lovely Native American balsam scent to dab on my pillow that's wonderful as well. It's really not a big deal to give blood. It doesn't hurt much, it's pretty quick, and we feel good about doing it. If you schedule regular donations each time you visit then it just becomes part of your normal routine. Lovely on the sprouts. Awesome that they started work on your new home! :) Exciting!

Waking up unusally refreshed eh Michelle? Goodness, maybe I should go buy magnesium. :) That Jammy french toast looked pretty fun. The kids must have been pleased! :) What kind of fish does Caiden have? (Sorry if you've already told us and I've forgotten) Holy on your busy days!!!! Pleased you're making my Meatball soup for dinner. I love that recipe.

So sorry to hear that Den is home sick Joce. Hope he feels better asap. Your dinner sounds yummy. Did you make him some soup for lunch? Ai yi yi on Liv. I hadn't heard that. :(

LOL Karen @ "the subconscious muddle theory". LOL. I too haven't made the homemade 'can of soup' recipe and I've meant to for years now!!!!

Gave blood, went for lunch, grocery shopping, home. Bought an entire beef tenderloin for $83 at Sobey's. First time I've ever done that. The price was the best I've seen in a couple of years. Watched two videos on Youtube on how to butcher it properly. Ended up with 12 filet mignon steaks, one flattish steak I'll treat like a flank steak, two good sized packages of beef cubes to use for shiskebob, and one small roast they said was good for "Chateaubriand". Kept the trimmings, fat, etc. to make beef broth with. Felt pretty pioneerish. :)

So we had quite a lot of excitement at the Blood Donor Clinic this morning. We picked Jim's friend Andrew up to come with us. Jim finished first, I next and then Andrew joins us in the little room for apple juice and cookies. He sits down for maybe two minutes and while he's talking to Jim, all of a sudden he springs a leak where the needle went in his arm. They had put gauze and a bandaid on it, but honest to goodness, his blood was SPURTING EVERYWHERE!!!!! It was like in a movie or something. Jim tells him to put pressure on it, the Juice guy volunteer runs to get a nurse and I run to the paper towels as Andrews two fingers are not keeping the blood inside him. Holy Smokes. It was crazy!!!! The nurse runs over and takes him back to the chair and they stop the bleeding and re-bandage him super, super well. In the mean time the volunteer has just backed off and there is Andrew's blood allllllll over the floor, his chair, his shirt, the table, etc. So Jim goes to the sink and cleans the majority of it up and then the nurse comes back with super duper antibacterial spray cleaner and all resumes to normal. But wow was it ever a surprise. Andrew was in good spirits despite all the commotion and Jim was teasing him that he'd better make sure he wasn't going to bleed in our car and ruin the leather. LOLOLOL.

The beef tenderloin weighed about 8.5 lbs. so it works out to about $9.75/lb., which still sounds kind of expensive, but when we buy two really nice steak at the local butcher, they average around $13/ a piece. I got about 6 very nice sized steak and 6 smaller ones, plus the other cuts. I'm happy and if they turn out to be really nice quality and tender, I'll totally do it again.

hey all, I am beyond exhausted right now. Just got back from a long drive to Edmonton and can barely keep my eyes open. Colter saw the neuro surgeon this morning for a follow up and I was supposed to pick up our cabinets from Ikea but I'm too tired from waiting at the hospital for two hours! He was an hour and half late! Ugh, anyways we ate and drove home before rush hour. I'll get Pete to drive to Calgary Ikea with me to get the cabinets another day. We just need 4 more to complete the kitchen. Off to shut my eyes, I'll catch up tomorrow.
    Have a great night everyone!
