What time is dinner, Wynne? I'll bring the dessert. Sounds yummy.

More soup for the troops tonight. They are moaning but it is easier on the tummy and until they get better that is the menu. Found out that tomato soup makes Scotty sick, so he is back to clear broth. He likes the ginger and green onion chicken broth, so he is getting a quart of that today. It does smell so good.

Thanks for your good wishes, I appreciate each and every one. I don't feel under siege or overwhelmed at this point, considering what has happened in Haiti, I am counting my blessings. We tease about our family black cloud that every time we think we have turned the corner something else happens to upset the apple cart. With the devastation and death in that poor country, our troubles are minor. The kids will recover from the flu, Fred continues to progress, I'll keep plugging along and saying my prayers.

Off to deliver soups, meds and get my rear in gear for work.

Hope ya'll have a fantastic day. Happy cooking.

ugh .. is it morning already?

I'm with you T. Life is so good compared to how hard it could be right now. Glad you are on the mend. :)

On my own personal front last night I got the opportunity to hash it out with a certain someone and I feel like a ton of weight has been lifted off my back. Never underestimate the power of standing up and speaking your mind! Standing up for yourself and your family can be very empowering....

I don't know whats for dinner but am starving right now. Girls don't have to go to school tomorrow so is pretty much my Friday. I feel like I should be treated to a night off from cooking so hoping for a pizza. I think I deserve it. :)

Chorizo...I'm always curious about that. The kind I can get here is soft and squishy. Lots of fat cooks off. Very yummy cooked with scrambled eggs and rolled in a tortilla. The chorizo I always see on T.V. is a hard sausage that you slice. What kind are you using Wynne?

Country style ribs with my own tangy BBQ sauce. Should be ready about noon. Mashed taters to go with.

I've used both, Ang but prefer the sausage type..I take the casing off and chop it up to add to whatever I'm making. I even made Chile Rellenos this past weekend stuffed with it and cheese....They were a huge hit. Les loves chorizo and cheese omelets. I never thought to scramble eggs with it and roll it up...Thanks for the great idea.

Tina, take care and you are all in my prayers.

Tina you are the closest thing to a saint I know. Hope everyone feels better soon.
At the office then off to the dollar store to buy some Valentine decorations since I can't find mine in the garage UGH! and some invitations.
Thought of a cool idea for Feburary Vacation for the girls and their friends, gonna do a kids bookswap. have everyone bring in the books they already read and trade them for different ones. I will probably serve cheese and crackers and maybe some sparkeling cider like a book reading. I am going to look for a craft maybe a tote bag with their names on it.

February vacation? What in the world is that?

I have looked and looked and have not been able to find the hard chorizo. Am lucky to get the kind I do. I first fell in love with it with when my first husband's family introduced me to it. They would make theirs homemade. Yum

Chorizo and Eggs-cook chorizo in skillet, skim off grease...there will be a lot of it. In separate bowl crack eggs, add a little milk and whisk for scrambled eggs. Pour eggs into chorizo and cook till eggs are done. Roll up in tortilla with some shredded cheese.

Just did this last weekend, even the girls love it. Well, not Karma lol. She is wanting to be vegetarian I think.

Take good care Tina! Sorry to hear about the H1N1 making the rounds! One of my coworkers has been out since last Wed. with it. She's been violently ill. My heart goes out to them!!

Take care of yourself, too Pat...good that you were able to take the day off to help fight it.

Been hard to grab a minute to get on the computer, I have really been missing you all. Work is slammed with one girl being out, and nursing Bryan at nite. He goes to get an MRI and to see an orthopedic surgeon after that on Monday. They gave him an epidural yesterday, and the guy that did it said his disc is blown, and he felt certain surgery is in his future.

Chorizo sounds great with scrambled eggs, Ang!

Wynne, I will bring the drinks since Tina is bringing dessert...sounds awesome.

    Ribs sound good, too! yummmmmeeeeee!

Now I'm hungry! And it's only 10:25...lol The pizza really was good the other night. Bryan doesn't like artichoke hearts, but if I chop them small enough and don't tell him...lol...I chop everything up and saute it together in a skillet, then put it all on the pizza! I was hoping to have the leftover tonite, since I made two, but him being home for lunch everyday is really cutting into the leftovers! lol Hopefully will have some leftover roast from Sunday and I can do hot roast beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy. If not, probably breakfast for supper.

Good morning all. I've been having fun plundering PLeClare's ground turkey recipes this morning. She has some doozies! Have to do some grocery shopping so I think I'll try out that Turkey Meatball and Escarole Soup. Great time of year for soup and my LiveStrong.com group has out the challange of the day to have two servings of leafy greens. That will take care of one.

I saw some really amazing looking Chorizo at Costco this week. I don't know if you ever thought to look there MrTNAngel8. I was surprised to find it there for some reason although they often have really wonderful items in the deli section.

I hope folks are feeling just a bit better around your house Tina. Try to keep warm and not wear yourself down too much.

    Hugs all and later.

Wynne, Pat, P7O, Otter your dinners all sound good!
Go for the pizza Ang, you do deserve it!
Sorry Bryan's back problems aren't getting any better, Lori.
Laurie, sounds like a cute idea. What IS a February vacation? Man, kids these days sure get more time off than we I or my son was in school!
I'm getting off easy tonight with leftover French Dips - got a lot of sirloin left. Funny thing, it was Brad's idea to have it again! Go figure that from "Mr. I Just Had That!"

Take care everyone and get well and stay well....

the dollar store was a bust they had no valentines decorations which is unusual. still wound up spending $10 LOL
The kids in New England have the week of Presidents day off and that is February Vacation. but since the weather is usually crappy that week we try to find something interesting to do other than DS or TV.
Still up in the air on dinner. Hubby is going to a going away party for his old boss so he won't be here which means i need to make something he doesnt like. :)

Have some chicken gravy made up for the mashed potatoes but the destructions for the ribs said to discard the boiling and marinate water with onions and garlic and my arms would not let me do it. Turned that marinate into gravy. So we'll have two choices of gravy. Chicken or Beef. Both taste real good. Guess I'll have to sample some of each on two different dollops of taters. Everything will be coming together in 10 minutes.

I might run to the store real quick for some more breadmaker mix. Nothing happening other than that exciting trek around here today.

Hubbs requested Tuna Helper cheesy flavor tonight---I'm happy to oblige, I love helpers! (I know, I know...blasphemy! LOL) Quick and easy. I have a distinct feeling TBO will want leftover potato soup from last night---he's not too keen on Tuna Helper, ha! He loves HH, but not the TH.

What is bread flour? What is the difference in that and regular flour? Wondering about bread making...

Bread flour develops more gluten when kneaded, enabling the dough to catch more carbon dioxide bubbles from the yeast and make the loaf rise better.

Tina hope things continue to get better for all of you.
Hope you feel better soon Pat.
Yes, life in Haiti must be like a living hell right now. No matter how bad things are for us here and now, look there and it is 100 times worse. Bless them all.
Yes, all your dinners sounds devine. I am not in the mood to cook today, have lots to do this weekend. Our friend with cancer is being taken off life support and will probably not be with us more than another 12 hours. family and friends are coming so I am into making breakfast casseroles, baking a turkey for lunches and dinner, lasagna and salads. Then pack it all up and transport to his house. My butt will be dragiing come Sunday evening. But he is a wonderful friend and I am happy to do it.
Have a great evening to all.
