Tuesday's Twice-Baked Potatoes!

  • chuckieb 8 years ago
    Good Morning Everyone! I have
    Twice Baked Spinach Potatoes
prepping as I sip my second cup of coffee.
Going to do Beef Shishkebobs on the BBQ this evening.
Jim and I are going out on a jaunt to do some more family tree research. We discovered recently that Jim's Great-Great-Great Grandfather is buried in Pakenham which is only a half hour drive from us. We only recently learned of this man not too long ago. He was the first of that side of the family to come over from Ireland. Too fun! Will also stop at a grave yard in Almonte where other members of that family are buried as well. Will grab lunch somewhere fun along the way.
With our recent discussion about folding fitted sheets I posted the pic below as a chuckle. :)
We're narrowing in on an apartment to rent in Taipei in Oct. when we go visit Benjamin. Benj is going to meet with a woman this next Tuesday to take a look at one that we saw online. It's a 20 min. walk from his own place so that will be handy.
Wishing everyone a super great day!

Good morning, Janet. LOVE the picture and I can identify with trying to find the corners! So cool to find an apt. to rent while visiting. Esp. one so close!

I am supposed to be working in the sun room while Wayne is gone on errands, to include keeping up on laundry meanwhile (His idea). I had one cup of coffee and am comfy in my chair - shall we call it organizing a plan of attack instead of goofing off? Heh heh! The fact that the drier just buzzed shall be ignored for the next ten minutes.

The bedroom is empty except for the carpet - the bed is supposed to arrive Thursday so we only have a couple more nights on the futon....altho it is not bad, for a futon!

Opened the window to let in some fresh air - have to turn off the A/C unit to keep from air conditioning the outside. Ha! We have already had one illegal entry -- had to capture and remove Trouble back to the living room. Little monsters!

Must go. My guilt quotient is expanding so I best get moving and do some constructive work around here. Have a good day.

    Good morning all:)

Janet, that is so interesting, researching your family tree:) That's amazing Jim's 3 x's Great Grandfather is buried close by... I watch "Who Do You Think You Are"..it's about celebrities who research their family tree..with lots of help from genealogists and others of course..but I am fascinated at what they find!

Karen, sounds like the reno is coming along! Only 2 more nights and you'll be in the bedroom! Very cool:)

Don, your dinner sounds amazing! It's 7:49 am here at the moment:) have a lovely walk on the beach..have I told you recently I've very jealous of your daily walks on the beach? :-)

I'm thinking Joce's Easy Excellent Rice Curry with chicken for dinner..I also have lots of fresh vegetables I NEED to cook so I'll have some as a side:)

Rick is doing 2 pre-wires on upcoming jobs today. one in Paradise and the other in Concow..the next hill over from us. I'm heading to Chico to see how Mom & Dad are doing..after I first go to the FM to pickup some more tomatoes & bell peppers (for the rice curry!)..Once I return home I'll have to get some invoices completed for Thursday's & Friday's jobs.......

    Tina?

    Hi Joce:)

Hi Michelle! Hi Shona! Hi Laurie! Hi everyone..:)

Morning! Those potatoes look so good Janet! Wow on finding Jim's GGG Grandfathers grave, and how sweet to visit it :) Hope the apartment is suitable for you guys!

Lol, good luck working in the sun room and keeping up with laundry Karen!

Shopping and cooking sounds like a great day to me Don! Your dinner sounds delicious!

Yum that rice curry sounds great Marie! Sounds like you have a busy day ahead of you!

Dropped the kids off at school. To those who asked yesterday, Caidne is in school ALL day long. He did good yesterday I think lol. He got a smiley face on his calendar so I'm guessing it was good :) He did say he got in trouble one time for talking though. Bri said it was the best first day of school ever and that she loves all her teachers! Bathrooms are on the cleaning list for today, UGH I hate cleaning the shower! Pulled out some chicken for tonight, but not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hi Michelle! Hey, if you have the ingredients, the rice curry is excellent with chicken..just like the name of the recipe:) Easy Excellent Rice Curry:-)

So very cool Bri & Caiden's 1st day back to school was a good one! I, believe it or not, (since I'm pushing 59 YO now, THAT I can't believe) still remember throwing a fit my 1st day of kindergarden...my Mom & Dad had to come back to the school to try to get me to settle down..guess it worked, I graduated from kindergarden..LOL I must have been a real pill..all the stories I've heard over the years:) Probably still am:)

Don, trout and leeks sound so-o-o-o good. Of course, my fish-hating other half is probably going to remain skeptical, but that is O.K. , he is getting better at trying the "experiments" from GR.

Michelle, what will you do with an entire no-kid day? Ha ha. Enjoy. I'm sure Caiden will do fine in his first days at school. At that age, I'm sure "talking" is par for the course. Was he proud of the smiley face? So good Briauna likes her teachers. I am dreading the bathroom. With company coming, the long-overdue shower has to be cleaned with a vengeance and I will have to relocate kittens at night so they don't have to worry about letting them out.

Marie, you must be super busy today what with invoices and farmer's market, etc. I am looking forward to being in my own bedroom.

The car is fixed - they said i was a bad battery but that seems strange with the odd symptoms. However, we shall see what happens when I try to drive it home. At least with AAA the towing was free.

    Have a nice day, all.

I guess you're as young as you feel eh Karen! You look AMAZING! I sure don't feel like I'm pushing 60! I believe being "young at heart" has a lot to do with it!

Gotta run..I'll check back in when I return home:)

Cute pic, Janet. It did make me giggle out loud:) I love looking up my ancestors and the fellow I am related to and contacted in Cornwall, has done extensive research and he has a program which is only for IMac's which even calculates how many cousin's Etc. Yesterday he told me I am his 12th cousin twice removed! He has gone as far back as 1342 in the Higman family which is on my father's mother's side. If you would like the name of the programme I will give it to you.
Oh and if you are taking pics of the grave stones. You might want to upload them to Find a Grave.com I believe it it called? It is free and helpful and you might find some of your relatives that way and help others find you and Jim. They like it when you take a pic
of a bunch of grave stones, even if they aren't related to you and it does help others as well. I have found a few on my mother's side that way. I am sure you will enjoy your day and I hope the apartment is more than suitable for you. Things are so cheap there it is too bad the flights are SO Expensive or I am sure you would go see Ben more often.

Karen, Good luck with all your chores today. Your BD is in October as well. What day? There are a bunch of us in ODD with BD's on October!

Don, You do have the life of Riley!!! Your dinner sounds absolutely delicious to me! How long have you been living in Spain?

Marie, I haven't made Easy Excellent Rice Curry in ages and Den loves it. I should put on my short list of things to make thanks for reminding me of it. I am sure your Mom and Dad will enjoy your visit.

Michelle, Now you will really have to adjust to not having any kids around each day! Glad Caiden seems to be liking it, so far:)

Tina????? I am worried about you!

We are havingOld Fashion Stuffed Pork Tenderloin with scalloped potatoes and fresh waxed yellow beans from my Farm Kids Stand. If I get energetic It is one of those weeks when I have to return at few things. Grr I hate doing that!
    Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

    Hello to all!
We've been deep into the family history the past few months too! My brother started a website for our Paternal side (geneology.com, for free) and we've found cousins and Uncles from all over the US and Canada that's contacted us. My Fathers Maternal side has a huge Website in Holland that our distant cousin translated for us! It's so cool now to have a complete Paternal History! We always thought we were Dutch and German but we have French and Russian heritage too.
Tonight is Roast Beef. We picked up some local corn and potatoes today.
The weather here is overcast because of all the smoke and smog from the Washington State fires. It has been awful down there! Hope they get some rain soon!
    Have a great day everyone!!

Joce, we really love your rice curry dish as well..yum yum:)
Dad & I took their SUV to a touchless car wash..Mom asked if I would be ok driving thru a carwash..hell, I didn't know! Their Escalade is about 5 times larger than my little SUV! Ha! I did ok..although I was getting a kick out of the soap spraying then the water spraying I didn't notice the green light which meant to go to the dryer part of it..dad is still pretty on top of things..he had to nudge me and tell me to "drive on" haha

LOL Karen..we all have our "I feel like 90 today" days!

    Cheers Don!

Shona, Cool on your family history! I know I'm Native American , German, Dutch & Irish..mainly Native American..what a combo eh? NO WONDER I'm FSW:-D LOL

We got the car back and the breaks on Wayne's truck froze up. When he pulled back in to the garage to pay for the tires (set # 5 this summer) for our daughter's van, smoke was puffing from the front right brakes. So it is at the garage and my car is home. Sigh.
I hate driving in car washes, too! Ugh! My vehicle can stay dirty!
