Hola Don! I hadn't had a burger in ages - then I got a "hankerin'" for one and we've had them several times this summer. Yours sound good! Tonight we "go to Mexico" as we say - it's Tuesday and cruise-in night at the restaurant. I'll probably have Victor make me some Toluca Shrimp- grilled shrimp, zucchini, yellow squash, onions, and mushrooms. It's one of my favs and I'm thinking I'll have a margarita to go with it as I've not had one of those in 2 weeks. Hasta Miercoles! :) (and I have no idea if I've spelled that correctly.) LOL

Good Morning Don! Wow...look at that...it is Sept. 1st already! That kind of crept up on me. Never heard the Punch saying before. LOL. Your Mediterranean Burgers sound good! As far as I'm aware you can't edit a title once you hit that 'enter' button. No worries. :) Enjoy your day.
Your evening plans sound wonderful Ann! Cheers to the Marguerita! :)
It's super foggy here this morning. Can't see up to the road. Kind of cool.
Both Jim and I have a craving for some more fresh corn on the cob but I haven't figured out what the main will be yet. I did buy hamburg for Dahlia's
    Sliders White Castle Style
That might do very nicely actually....especially with you two talking about hamburgers....:)
So Michelle B.....I did my googling homework. :) A tawa looks very much like a crepe pan. Am I right? The Fire Walking Festival is incredible. It is disturbing but I have to say I'd love to actually see it in person some day. I've heard about it of course over the years. One article I read said the fire pit is 4m/13 ft. long. That's a long way! But that some people practice strict vegetarianism and fasting rules for weeks beforehand and actually complete the ritual totally unscathed! Your Naan sounds super yummy. The Mariamma Temple is gorgeous. How different is that eh? And the Grand Pacific Hotel....well, it's truly grand! Hope you had fun at the cocktail party.
That meal you had for the Christening was awesome Laurie! I'd never heard of a Casada cake before. Good Luck to Rachel on her first day back at school! Lucky Becca to not have to start 'til next week. :)
Oh goodness at Geezer having an altercation with the raccoon Karen. Glad Geezer's okay!
I have my Book Chat at the Library this afternoon.
Our pizza turned out quite well last night. We made two small ones. The first had pesto, cherry tomatoes from the garden, basil and mozzerella on it and the second had tomato sauce, crumbled chorizo, onions and mushrooms. The second was our favourite. The first one didn't have enough 'juice'? It tasted a tad dry. It took me all day long to make the dough recipe that came in the instruction booklet. Used my Kitchenaid Mixer and it had to knead for a long time and then rest and then rest some more, etc. Next time I'm just buying a ball of pizza dough from the grocery store I think. LOL!

Morning/Afternoon Y'all! I've been lurking for a week or two! I was going to chime in the day I joined, but was "in the corner" for misbehaving! (Kidding, I apparently over posted - 2 threads & 3 comments - and got auto marked as spam or something and couldn't participate.) I'm Lacey and am from The Refugees group.
Looks like 1 person posts the daily title and everyone else chimes in with what they had for supper and then carries on their conversation from the day(s) before ?

Don, your burgers sound great, haven't had one in a while and am about due for one! I didn't even notice Tuesday was misspelled!
MA, please let Victor know I'd like the same order minus the shrimp. Love, love squash & zucchini!
ChuckieB - Nice to meet you. It is hard to believe it's already September! According to the internet there's 21 days till fall, yippee! Can't wait for booties & cardigans, lol. Your sliders sound good too! So does the pizza from last night! I like to use my KA for kneading bread dough, so much easier than kneading by hand, can agree store bought is also less work. ;)

We had oven roasted vegetables and a roll. Which is something I make at minimum 1-2 times a week!

Morning! Love the monthly punch line Don :) Lol, sounds like you have the perfect day ahead of you! Yum on your dinner, we love sliders! It's okay about the title, we have all done that once or twice :)

That shrimp dish sounds delicious MotherAnn! Enjoy your margarita :)

Both of those pizza's sound yummy Janet! Way to go on making your own crust, but yes it is time consuming. I usually double a recipe so I can halve the dough and freeze half for next time. Enjoy the book club meeting!

Softball practice got canceled last night because of the rain. It is dark, thundery and storming outside today as well. There is no way I could go anywhere even if I wanted to. I had planned to go to the gym but that won't happen until it calms down some. May just hunker down and watch a movie since I did most of the housework yesterday. I pulled out some country pork ribs for dinner and I thought that this would be an interesting side dish to serve with it http://paleogrubs.com/collard-green-slaw-recipe along with some steamed green beans. Michaels starting his round of night shifts so evenings will be a little hectic, SO MUCH HOMEWORK!!! Have a great day eveyone :)

Hi Lacy!! Glad you stopped by the ODD! Not sure if I introduced myself in the Refugees, but I'm Michelle. Yes you are correct! Whoever wakes up first and wants to start the daily post is welcome too. We just talk about whatever, our day, our problems, excitements, or how bored we are lol and usually post what we will be making for dinner. There's really no rules :) Lol truthfully I didn't notice Tuesday was misspelled either :P I love just some good ol' roasted veggies for a meal, but my meat loving family would have to have a hunk of meat somewhere on their plate!

Allison will be getting five days in a row 15 minute radiation treatments for seven weeks .The cancer center nurses told her ny the 4th week she will be feeling "pretty bad". I hate cancer. She has decided she can driver herself. She is determined.

I've got the ribs in the frig. Olivia bailed on me and I'll make them tomorrow instead. Scotty is taking her out tonight.

Charlie needs a vet visit. He is walking funny. I think his hips hurt.

Karen, Blondie is getting bold. Hope he stays out of the traps.
Don, you have my kind of day planned.
Joce, I love ham and pineapple. Olivia not so much. Boo on her.
MA enjoy your shrimp and margarita.
Hi, Lacey, grilled veggies are good any day.
Michelle, homework already? Boy they have the kids start the year full throttle. I think a movie is a great idea. I'm interested in the collard salad. I always cook my collards forever in broth.
Janet, I hope book chat was good. I think I would prefer to buy my pizza crust as well. I haven't made a pizza in ages. I did make some gazpacho for lunch. It is good.

I hate cancer too Tina. :( Hope Charlie's okay and that he just strained something.
The Book Chat was a good one and very lively! The books was "The Sweetness of a Simple Life" by a phenomenal woman by the name of Diana Beresord-Kroeger. She is extremely well educated, an author, lecturer, she is currently working on a three part documentary on trees for PBS due out spring 2016 and she has a blog called "10 Trees that can save the world". Our Librarian actually contacted her publisher and was able to get her to agree to come to our local library to give a talk next month. I was SO excited, but.....she's coming on Tues. Oct. 13th, the day we fly out to Taiwan. Boo. :(
Ran into town afterwards and did some errands. Got some yummy fresh corn on the cob!

    Hello everyone. Welcome Lacey.
First day of Senior year for Rachel. Then field hockey after. She isn't loving it this year but I told her you can't quit your last year lol it will look bad on your college applications.
Becca doesn't go back til next week but she started her first day of work at Dunkin Donuts today.
Tonight's dinner is steak tacos, and rice pilaf. No veg unless you count the tomato and avocado we are putting on top.
Cancer Sucks Tina but if she is feeling ok and wants to drive you better let her or she will put up a big stink and that isn't good for anyone :)
I am running my First 5k on September 19th for my friends dad that passed away from colon cancer. Our team name is Big Mac's Maniacs. He was very positive the doctors gave him 6 months to live and I think he lived something like 10 years past it. Never complained just did his radiation and chemo. If you asked him how he was he was always great.

Funny thing about my friends dad. When he got sick he moved in with her sister and their mother was already living there. So after being divorced about 25 years they lived together like the best of friends.
