    howdy fellow soup lovers...

    i love love love soup...
    it's such a great thing!

warm and filling, it always hits the spot !

my personal tastes veer towards the vegetarian with very fresh ingredients and simple recipes...
but i make a MEAN clam chowder that has a list of ingredients as long as can be ---with bacon and cream and butter---you get the idea...

and i am not above a canned soup...
*i have a special place in my heart for campbell's alphabet vegetable soup...
    it's great for hangovers!...LOL...
and progresso's lentil (i always add freshly grated parmesan so it tastes more like mom's!)

As a single person...I will make a big batch of soup on my day off and then freeze them in individual batches to microwave later...
i'll also give these to friends and family...
i love to cook for certain friends and family who are always very appreciative...
it feels good to watch others enjoying the things that come from my kitchen...
i think that is as close to maternal as i am ever going to come!...LOL...

i'm always looking for something that is out of the ordinary...
or quick and easy to fix...

    what about you?

Hi everyone! My name is Debbie and Soup is my passion! I love soup and could eat it everyday! I believe I am at my best when I am in the kitchen preparing a big pot of "love" soup. I really do not have a favorite but I do tend to go for the creamy kind. I love to make homemade soups and make many varieties of each kind. I love creamy tomato basil and being from the south, I love my gumbos! I have made gumbo out of pork, left over pot roast, greens, etc. My favorite is a recipe I developed with left over pork roast. I usually don't make soup as often as I like because my hubby isn't a soup person. Although he loves my soup, he would prefer a meat dish with sides. So, when I make soup I share with the neighbors who like me, adore it! One neighbor said she dare not move away because she would be in withdrawal!

Hola, Turtle here. Soups are easy and fun to make and people really appreciate good soup. A few years back i had a job at a Country Club and one of my duty's was to make a daily soup special. i had Sundays and Mondays off so someone else would make the soup on my days off. Well that did not go over to well with a few members of the club (My Food Groupies) as my boss and some of my coworkers use call them...Lol. (Solution) I would give my self a little bit of extra time on Saturday mornings to make an extra 10 gallons of yummy food groupie pleasing soup to be served on my days off.................................................(Ahh the irony of good soup) lol.

Wow....what a good idea to introduce ourselves. When my daughter called me the soup queen I had to stop and think...yeah, I really do love soup! When I was a kid we always ate soup out of a can and when I ate my 1st homemade soup (my Dad's authentic minestrone) I thought it was so exotic. Oh, and I thought homemade soup was mimicking the canned soups. Silly me, but then I grew up and got wiser.

I love every kind of soup but mostly make veggie soups. When my produce drawers are overflowing, I lay each veggie out and start chopping. Add some beans and we have dinner. I love Mulligatawny soup and think my version is really the best. I guess I should post it here one of these days. Also Rice Soup...an incredible Vietnamese soup. My family recipe for pasta fagiole is amazing. And on and on.

Soups are quick and easy and very healthful..... I have been making soups for my family for years and now my daughters are doing the same for their families as did my mother for her family. I love most any kind and have made most varieties. Recently I have developed multiple food sensitivities--- to grains, dairy, fruit, potatoes-- so this means no barley, pasta, rice, potatoes, cheese--all of which are ingredients in most soups. So my new challenge is to find soup recipes that are tasty and filling and which don't contain any of the above ingredients. My very first *find* when I joined the other day was a Roasted Yellow Pepper and Cauliflower soup --it was fabulous and the pureed cauliflower made it thick and creamy. It was a big hit in our house. I look forward to checking out all the recipes in this group. Tks.... gail

Hi, I am a soup lover! And I love to make soup. I use fresh ingredients, although if I can't get the texture or flavor exactly as I want it, I have been known to cheat a little and add things such as Velveeta (which melts divinely), or Campbells Cream of....(what, depends on what kind of soup I am making), and also if I haven't had time to render my own chicken, beef, veggie, seafood, ham, etc. stock, I will use the prepared stuff.
I have submitted my own broccoli/cheese/mushroom cream soup recipe here, which I call Ultimate Cream of Broccoli, and it truly is, if I do say so myself. :-)
I also love to make my homemade Turkey Vegetable, my baked potato and leeks, my lentil soup, and my five-bean soup. I would love to share recipes and techniques here with you guys!

Hi! I make a ton of different soups. It's so EASY! I usually just throw stuff is a pot with some stock or broth...frozen veggies are great. I love making tomato soup using V8 juice, canned tomatoes and frozen spinach...comes out great every time and is super healthy. (Usually, I don't even use any fats...) My husband loves my soups and I like to make different sandwiches to go with them as "dippers", which everyone loves.

I'm new to this site but think it's so charming and I can't wait to post some soup recipes!
