How to make it

  • Stir together the sugar and flour with cinnamon and baking powder in a large bowl and set aside.
  • In a sauce pot add the melted butter or margarine , baking cocoa, oil and water and cook over medium heat and stir and bring to a full boil.
  • Immediately remove from heat and pour over dry ingredients and beat on low speed to mix well.
  • Add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk and mix well with mixer.
  • Pour into a well greased large fluted bundt pan.
  • Batter may be thin
  • Bake 325F about 50 to 60 minutes OR until top springs back and cake tester comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Do not overbake
  • Let cool in pan 15 minutes and invert and remove.
  • Let cool completely.
  • Chill covered overnight before serving to blend falvors
  • Sprinkle with powder sugar if desired.
  • Freezes well.
  • Note. if desired one may pour a chocolate icing over the cooled cake if desired.

    Sounds like a Texas sheet cake with brown sugar in a bundt pan. In other words---something wonderful! I love the sub of brown sugar--can't wait to try this one! --Kn0x--
