Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a large heavy pot, over medium-high heat, cook and stir onions in oil for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Add broth, tomatoes, beans and ham; heat to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Stir in cheese just before serving.
  • ***Note: Another add in could be frozen, chopped spinach and a dash of nutmeg and or some small pasta such as ditalini!

    Yummy! I like the kale idea - and as I was reading it I was thinking about adding ditalini, too! Must be the beans and tomato; it's like pasta fagiole.

    I'm definitely in a soup mood; after summer's great abundance I always crave fall foods. great recipe here, I love the suggestion of adding some greens, perhaps even kale
