Ingredients

How to make it

  • Soak the split peas in a pot of water over night, drain and rinse peas.
  • In a large soup pot combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Lower heat and let simmer until peas are tender. If necessary add more water sparingly.
  • Stir often.
  • If you like your pea soup really creamy you can carefully put it through a blender. Careful when doing this as the soup is hot.
  • Top with croutons if desired.
  • Enjoy.

Just lovely, Alby... I don't use bouillon, though, so I used 12 cups of stock, instead... I also didn't soak my beans, just tossed everything in the slow cooker and it took 6 hours to get perfect, for us. No need for cream, it was thick and yummy. This only served 8 for us, and that was with grilled ham and cheese, but, we're big eaters. :) I also added a few pieces of salt pork because I didn't wanna add bacon or ham, but I wanted just a tough of the flavor...therefore, though, I didn't add any extra salt, just black pepper. Wonderful, easy soup...especially in the slow cooker! :) Thank you, sir. I added my pic.

Sounds delis, as I LOVE split pea soup, especially home-made!!!
    HIGH FIVE!

Just a suggestion for you :: if you're lactose-intolerant, try adding lactaid to the soup slowly to give it the creaminess.
    Take care :+D
