How to make it

  • First, sample the whisky to check for quality.
  • Take a large bowl. Check the whisky again. To be sure it is the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer, beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar and beat again.
  • Make sure the whisky is still okay. Cry another tup. Turn off the mixer. Break two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers pry it loose with a drewscriver.
  • Sample the whisky to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Who cares? Check the whisky. Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find.
  • Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out of the window, check the whisky again and go to bed.

Sounds great because I love fruit cake. Here in the South, we substitute Jim Beam for the whiskey.

Made this last night. Skipped most of the steps and used Irish Cream instead of straight whiskey. The only change I would make is that before going to bed I said my pajamas and got into my prayers, then turned off the bed and climbed into the light.

Is it true that there are only 5,000 fruitcakes in the world and they just keep going from one person to another? Chuckle. Great recipe. I don't normally disagree with Irish but I like all that candied fruit in a fruitcake. Must say I fancy her pecans though. Over-proof Rum's my thing here, and I try to get a bit more of it in the cake. Thanks for the post. RJ

Yummmmmmmmy...I Will Try It, I Don't Use All Dried Fruits in My FruitCake Just the Dried Cherries and Pineapple and I Use Pecans Instead of Walnuts. Still Yummmmmy!
