How to make it

  • Mix in a large bowl, the cabbage, onions, carrot, cucumber and 1 cup sugar.
  • Bring to a boil the 2 teaspoons of sugar, salt, mustard, oil, celery seed, and vinegar.
  • Pour boiling mixture over the cabbage/onion mixture; do not stir for 4 hours. Refrigerate.
  • Add green, red, or yellow peppers and pimento for color. Stir before serving
