How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375. Butter a 1 1/2 quart casserole.
  • In a medium saucepan, heat 3 tbsp butter until melted, add flour and whisk for a minute. Add milk and cook while whisking until thickened. Add salt & pepper to taste. Add 3/4 cup Gruyere & 1 1/8 cups cheddar, whisk until smooth. Add cooked macaroni. Pour into buttered casserole, top with the remainder of the cheese..
  • Melt remaining 1 tbsp butter, add breadcrumbs & toss. Top mac & cheese with bread crumbs. Bake approximately 30 minutes, or until brown on top. Cool for a few minutes & enjoy!
