Ingredients

How to make it

  • Toss asparagus with all remaining ingredients except sesame seeds and then grill over high heat for just a couple of minutes until tender. This doesn't take long, so don't over cook it.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds just before serving.

Made this recipe last night! Delicious! The only ingredient I didn't have on hand was the Chinese Mustard. Subbed it with some dry mustard mixed with a bit of water and a couple of drops of vinegar . The sauce smelled 'sweet' but I was pleased to taste that it wasn't. I actually cooked this up in a frying pan on the stove so it sort of steamed in that lovely sauce as opposed to grilling it. WONDERFUL! Ate every last bite. Thanks so much! More in ML2C's

This looks really good. That's a nice looking fish in your photo. I know that southerners like to use cornmeal when pan frying fish. I hope that you didn't use cornmeal on that fish! Cornmeal overpowers the natural fish flavor of such a fine looking fish.

If you want to keep the sauce and spice on the asparagus, try wrapping the spears in thinly sliced ham or turkey; then grilling. This has worked for me, but I really like the mix of flavors here, Thanks again for sharing!!

Mmmm, sounds good though a bit complicated-- I have usually just pan-sauteed asparagus in peanut oil with a dash of sesame oil, and added sesame seeds and soy sauce just before it's done. Will try this when I'm feeling more ambitious!
