Breakfast Sausage Pie Recipe
This is a nice yummy little breakfast.

Ingredients
  • 1-1 Lb. pkg. mild sausage
  • 1 1/2 C. finely chopped Golden Delicious apples
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 C. grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 C. chopped pecans
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 C. half and half
  • 1/2 (15oz.) pkg refrigerated pie crusts

Directions
  1. Line a 10 inch pie pan with pastry and trim edges.
  2. Prick bottom and sides with a fork.
  3. Bake at 400 °F for 3 minutes, remove from oven, and gently prick with fork again.
  4. Bake an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Cool completely.
  6. Lower oven temp to 375°F.
  7. Cook sausage in a large skillet until browned, stirring to crumble.
  8. Drain well.
  9. Set aside.
  10. Combine apples, cinnamon, cheese, pecans with cooked sausage.
  11. Spoon the sausage mixture into the cooled pie crust.
  12. Combine eggs and half and half in a medium mixing bowl, blending well.
  13. Pour over sausage and apple mixture.
  14. Bake for 40 minutes or until set.

Oh My Gosh! This looks so delicious, I want it right now. This would be a good afternoon snack too or dinner. I would serve this at a tea or buffet as well. I can't wait to try it. I think I have everything including the pecans from our tree. Thanks for posting this wonderful recipe!

I hate the fat chunks in breakfast sausage, so I'm going to try it with ground pork. This sounds real good with the cheese. I make my stuffing with apples and gr. pork and walnuts.


I made this for Sunday breakfast. Fantastic!!!
