Basil Corn Off The Cob Recipe

If you're like me, you love corn on the cob, but hate the mess! This recipe is the best of both worlds. It's not very spicy, despite the cayenne.

Ingredients
  • 6 earsh fresh corn on the cob
  • butter
  • 1 bunch basil, roughly chopped
  • 1 tsp cayenne powder

Directions
  1. Remove husks and silk from corn.
  2. Bring water to a rolling boil, add corn.
  3. Cook for 3 minutes once water has come back to a boil.
  4. Remove corn from water.
  5. Slice the corn off each cob. This is the tricky part, as it is still hot, try using tongs. Try to get chunks of corn, for the presentation.
  6. Gently toss with basil, cayenne, and enough butter to coat.

Hmm---seems easy and tasty...

*except for that tricky part of cutting it off the cob while it's still hot...

i'll give this a go...

Thanks!

I love fresh basil and always have some in my garden. The season for corn and basil is now about over, even here in Florida, but I'm going to bookmark this recipe for next year.

Sounds so good.. though cutting the corn off the cob while hot is sounding really tricky..

Good idea, I have't tried corn with basil yet.
