How to make it

  • Sift flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in shortening until mixture is the consistency of small peas.
  • Add milk. Then roll out on well floured board to 1/2-inch thickness.
  • Spread with filling mixture.
  • Fold sides over and seal. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Combine frosting ingredients. Spread it on pastry while hot.
