Irish Apple Pastry

This recipe came from my grandmother she made it with love for us and passed down the recipe to my parents.
Ingredients
- Ingredients: shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 6 Tablespoons Crisco shortening shopping list
- 4 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 2/3 cup milk shopping list
- Mixture for filling: shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups chopped apples shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons butter shopping list
- Frosting: shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons hot water shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups confectioners sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Sift flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in shortening until mixture is the consistency of small peas.
- Add milk. Then roll out on well floured board to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Spread with filling mixture.
- Fold sides over and seal. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
- Combine frosting ingredients. Spread it on pastry while hot.
