How to make it

  • For the Griddlecakes:
  • Mix and sift flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and sugar; sift again. Combine egg, milk, butter and apples. Add gradually to the flour mixture, stirring only until dry ingredients are moistened. Bake on hot greased griddle.
  • Makes 14 to 16 griddlecakes.
  • For the Syrup:
  • Melt butter, add nuts: brown lightly: remove nuts. Add maple syrup, cinnamon and salt to butter in saucepan; add apples; cover; simmer slowly 10 minutes. Remove cover; simmer about 3 minutes longer. Remove from heat; add nuts.. Serve with pancakes, waffles or French toast
  • Makes 6 servings

    I actually have 2 pecan peach, one apple, and next year I should have apercots, my nectrine try died so will plant it along with a plumb.

    Yummmmmm! You lucky dog to have both an apple tree and pecan tree. Wish I lived in your neck of the woods. I will have to try this when I can at least get some fresh apples here. Luckily I won't have to wait to to long. Thanks.
