Apple Griddlecakes with Apple Pecan Syrup

- 1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 egg, well beaten shopping list
- 1 cup milk, at room temperature shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted shopping list
- 1 cup finely chopped apples shopping list
- apple pecan syrup shopping list
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine shopping list
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans shopping list
- 1 cup maple syrup shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- Few grains salt shopping list
- 2 cups thinly sliced peeled apples shopping list
How to make it
- For the Griddlecakes:
- Mix and sift flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and sugar; sift again. Combine egg, milk, butter and apples. Add gradually to the flour mixture, stirring only until dry ingredients are moistened. Bake on hot greased griddle.
- Makes 14 to 16 griddlecakes.
- For the Syrup:
- Melt butter, add nuts: brown lightly: remove nuts. Add maple syrup, cinnamon and salt to butter in saucepan; add apples; cover; simmer slowly 10 minutes. Remove cover; simmer about 3 minutes longer. Remove from heat; add nuts.. Serve with pancakes, waffles or French toast
- Makes 6 servings

Yummmmmm! You lucky dog to have both an apple tree and pecan tree. Wish I lived in your neck of the woods. I will have to try this when I can at least get some fresh apples here. Luckily I won't have to wait to to long. Thanks.
