Elvis Presley Poundcake

Poundcake that "rocks"Special poundcake attributed to Elvis.Reprinted every year in our local newspaper during Elvis Week which begins on that Saturday at Graceland in Memphis
Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar shopping list
- 2 sticks(one cup)butter shopping list
- 7 eggs,at room temperature shopping list
- 3 cups cake flour,sifted twice shopping list
- 1 cup whipping cream shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- Combine the sugar and the butter in bowl of electric mixer
- Beat on medium speed until creamy, about 3 minutes.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in 1/2 of the flour
- Add whipping cream
- Beat in remaining flour and vanilla
- Pour batter into 2 buttered and floured 81/2-by-41/2 inch loaf pans.
- Bake until golden and a tester inserted in the center of cakes comes out clean,about 1 hour.
- Cool in pans 5 minutes
- Remove from pans. Cool completely on wire racks.

Thanks for posting this. I lost this recipe and so glad to have found it. For those who have yet to try this, it is scrumptiously delicious!! We top this with strawberries and whipped cream...the BEST!
