Spices, sugar & wine all together in a cookie. Soetkoekies are of Dutch origin and apparently have been a favourite South African biscuit-tin filler for many years. Recipe came from an old teacher of mine.

I whipped up a batch of these last night as I had most of the ingredients on hand. They are delightful. I love traditional dutch biscuits so these were perfect. I didn't have any buckwheat though so I used some chickpea flour for extra 'depth' that I had left over from my Rose of Jericho cake :) Thanks for yet another great post.
