Ingredients
  • 8oz wide egg noodles, uncooked
  • 1# ground round
  • 3 green onions, sliced or 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (8oz) package fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 (12oz) jar beef gravy, fat-free
  • 1 (8oz) carton sour cream, fat-free
  • 1/4t garlic salt
  • 1/4t freshly ground pepper
  • 1T dry sherry (optional)

Directions
  1. Prepare noodles according to package directions, omitting salt and fat.
  2. While noodles cook, cook meat, green onions and mushrooms in a large nonstick skilet until meat is browned, stirring to crumble; drain.
  3. Return meat mixture to skillet; add gravy and next 3 ingredients, stirring will. Cook over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Stir in sherry, If desired. Serve over drained noodles.
  4. 367 calories, 19% from fat.

I found that steak sauce was a decent substitute for the beef gravy (not on hand). Made a quick and yummy meal. Oh and I added green peppers, as per what I'm used to for stroganoff. Couldn't have pulled it off quickly without your recipe base. Thanks!


Sounds decent, but remember this is a Cooking Light recipe, not mine. If I were to make this my own recipe, I would use 1/2 cup of the meat and the drained off juices to make my own gravy instead of it being store bought. Half cup flour stirred into the lifted beef and juice; then 2 cups milk, stirred until thickened. Return the rest of the meat and the sherry to the pot to thoroughly heat.


This was great... I served it with a tossed salad and hubby did not even know it was diet.. I have his cholesterol down to under 200 from almost 300 without taking a pill... foods like this is a great helper.. Thanks

Made this tonight and it was delicious and so simple to throw together..Have to admit I didn't go fat free though...Got my 5...:)
