Why do I keep trying Cooking Light recipes?? ;) Okay, I made this with homemade beef gravy, a sweet onion, fresh garlic and full fat sour cream. I served it over mushroom egg noodles which screamed "stroganoff" when I saw them! ;) I tasted the mixture before adding the sour cream and felt it needed...something. I added a lil Worcestershire and a dollop of Dijon along with a lil salt and a lot of fresh ground pepper. It seemed a lil bland, without those additions, even with a good gravy. It was very good, though, and so very quick and easy! This is a strong recipe and a few lil personal tweaks are easy enough. Served with broccoli and homemade rolls. Added to the existing IMI thread!

Sounds decent, but remember this is a Cooking Light recipe, not mine. If I were to make this my own recipe, I would use 1/2 cup of the meat and the drained off juices to make my own gravy instead of it being store bought. Half cup flour stirred into the lifted beef and juice; then 2 cups milk, stirred until thickened. Return the rest of the meat and the sherry to the pot to thoroughly heat.

I found that steak sauce was a decent substitute for the beef gravy (not on hand). Made a quick and yummy meal. Oh and I added green peppers, as per what I'm used to for stroganoff. Couldn't have pulled it off quickly without your recipe base. Thanks!
