Ingredients

How to make it

  • Dressing:
  • (Do not add to salad until you are ready to serve).
  • Mix all ingredients until smooth. Cover and refrigerate.
  • Salad:
  • Place broccoli in a strainer; rinse.
  • Pour water over broccoli in strainer, then immediately run cold water over it to stop the cooking process (drain well). This step helps with the smell that's in broccoli and gives it a nice green color.
  • Add green onions, celery, and grapes.
  • Place all ingredients in a large plastic bag and shake to toss well, then refrigerate until ready to serve (I place paper towels in the bottom of the bag to catch the any moisture).
  • Just before serving add the raisins, bacon and pecans to the bag and toss.
  • When ready to serve, place the veggie mixture in a large serving bowl.
  • Pour dressing over all and toss.
  • Serves: 8-10
  • NOTE: Add dressing, raisins, bacon, nuts only to what will be eaten. Does not refrigerate well with dressing. The above will not keep their texture in moisture.

I've had this salad before and LOVED it but have never had the recipe. I think that the one I had may have had cashews instead of pecans but either works well! Thanks so much for posting. I'll definitely bookmark this one and make it as soon as I get the opportunity.

I've made this twice for friends (it makes lots!) and had recipe requests each time. I didn't change a thing. It is a keeper!

The vinegar tones down the sugar, so it's not too sweet...just delishous. Use less sugar, if you like and do a taste test.

Sounds interestingly yummy... is it sweet with all that sugar in the dressing? Just trying to imagine it all. I might have to try this one!
