This is very good and very pretty the way it blossoms out into a flower.

After frying lots and lots of onions, here's one tip that makes it a little easier: soak the cut onions in cold water for several hours, even overnight, and the petals spread out making it easier to bread and fry.
Also, if you fry it upside-down first, that keeps the petals open so that the breading down inside gets done.
