Traditional Pa. Dutch recipe.From PA Dutch Cookbook handed down by the early settlers in PA of which my husband is of descent.

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour (sifted )
- 1 1/2 tsp.baking powder
- 3 Tbsp confectioner's sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon( if desired)
- 1/3 cup of milk
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 2 medium-size tart apples, thinly sliced
Directions
- Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl
- Stir the milk into the egg
- Add to dry ingredients
- Mix well
- Mix in the apples
- Drop batter by spoon-fuls into deep fat (oil) heated to 365 F
- Fry about 3 min; turn fritters during frying
- Drain on paper towels
- About 1 1/2 dozen
- I like to roll in sugar or powdered sugar or cinnamon & fine sugar
