How to make it

  • Chocolate Crumb Crust
  • In a medium bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs (about 45 wafers), 6 tablespoons confectioners sugar, 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa and 1/3 cup oleo melted. Press firmly on bottom and 1/2" up side of a 9" springform pan.
  • Procedure
  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Prepare Chocolate Crumb Crust. In large mixer bowl, beat cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 1 hour and 5 minutes or until center is set. Cool. Chill. Garnish as desired. Refrigerate
  • *** If you want more chocolate, TOPPING:
  • Melt chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in cream and vanilla; mix well. Spread over filling. Refrigerate overnight. Carefully run a knife around edge of pan to loosen. Remove sides of pan.
  • Just before serving, garnish with whipped cream and miniature chocolate kisses if desired.

    This sounds wonderful. I bookmarked it to make for a birthday party next month. Can't wait to try it. Maybe I'll make 2 and save 1 for myself to enjoy! BTW: You are officially a southerner now. My father was a Yankee when he married my mother (who was born and raised in North Georgia). I remember her telling him after he had been in Atlanta for 30 years, that he was now a "Southerner". Savannah is a wonderful place. We used to go there every year for vacation. In fact my parents honeymooned there. Thanks for all the good recipes.
