Ingredients

How to make it

  • Place chicken in a shallow, large sized dish.
  • In a medium bowl, mix soy sauce, molasses, honey, Tobasco sauce, minced garlic, garlic and onion powder and ground ginger. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
  • Cover and refrigerate for approximately 1 hour, turning occasionally. Note: You can also put the chicken wings in a zip loc bag and marinate them that way.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • I like to double line a cookie sheet with foil then arrange marinated chicken wings in a single layer.
  • Bake in preheated oven for approximately 60 minutes.
  • I make 2 batches of the marinating mixture. One for marinating and the second for brushing the chicken wings with. I suppose you could use the same sauce that the chicken wings have been marinated in but I'm skittish about using the same sauce.
  • Turn chicken wings only once.

If you can't find molasses in your grocery stores then just omit it from the ingredients. NO problem ;)

I gave you a five. This recipe is the best. I found it by accident reading your comment on another wing recipe. I quickly perused all your listed recipes and am so impressed. I'll be back again for more because everything looks so good!

These wings were really very very good! I made them without deviating and they turned out very succulent and tasty! I withheld a little of the sauce to use to brush onto the wings....but as I thought about it, I bet you could remove the chicken wings from the marinade, and put the marinade into a saucepan and boil it and it would be perfectly safe to brush onto the wings when baking....what do you think? This recipe is a keeper. Thanks!

Just read your recipe and it looks terrific! Love the soy-honey-molasses combo you've got going! My husband and I really enjoy chicken wings and will definitely give this a try very soon.

I've never tried Tiger Sauce but I'll look for it. Is it sold in the typical grocery stores or in Asian food markets? Thank you for the suggestion Mellian ;-)

This is similar to how I make my wings. If you've never tried Tiger Sauce, give it a try in place of the Tabasco. It's a sweet/hot sauce.

Hi there Heather and yes, that is exactly what I do. I double up! I can't imagine making separate batches of the same marinade for the same recipe ;-) I never take chances and especially when it comes to food. Thank you for your comments.

you're absolutely right to be skittish -- food safety requires you to boil the marinade you've had raw meat in, if you're going to reuse it. :) seems like you could just double the marinade and then reserve a bit of it for brushing, though. i'm not sure if that's what you meant by making two batches, or if you just make it over again once the chicken has marinated.
