Moon Cakes

Fun & easy to make. Melt in -mouth delicious
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb butter or margarine shopping list
- 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 cups flour (sift 3 times) shopping list
- 2 tsp. vanilla or lemon juice shopping list
- 6 egg yolks, separate, beat white stiff shopping list
- 2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- Topping Mix: shopping list
- 1 cup gr. walnuts or pecans shopping list
- 2 Tbsp. sugar shopping list
- few drops lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter.
- Add sugar and egg yolks and vanilla.
- Beat until smooth
- Add flour
- Mix well; then add beaten egg whites.
- Pour batter into greased and floured 11 x 16 or 9 x 13 in. pan
- Sprinkle with nut mixture on top.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 min.
- When cool , cut into moon shape
- with glass and cut vertically with knife to make half moons
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar
