Ingredients
  • 6 slices smoked ham (if the ham slices are too thin, they will tear when you try to spread on the filling, so ask the deli to slice the ham a little thicker than for sandwiches)
  • Filling:
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (don’t substitute Miracle Whip!)
  • 6 pimento-stuffed green olives, chopped finely
  • ½ teaspoon yellow mustard

Directions
  1. Mix together the filling ingredients.
  2. Spread each ham slice with filling and roll it up tightly.
  3. Chill thoroughly before slicing each roll into bite-size pieces.
  4. NOTE: You can vary these in so many ways:
  5. Omit olives, substitute honey mustard for yellow mustard and use honey ham slices.
  6. Omit olives and add grated Swiss, cheddar, or gruyere cheese instead.
  7. Use garlic or jalapeno stuffed olives instead of pimento stuffed.
  8. Add finely diced pecans.
  9. Omit olives and mustard - add some crushed pineapple instead, for a sweet/savory pinwheel.
  10. For a sharper flavor, omit olives and add a dash of horseradish to the filling.
  11. Replace the filling with a horseradish cheddar cheese spread, adding some diced pecans for a nice crunch.
  12. Be as creative as you wish!

Yum, I wonder how some green onions would do in place of the olives??? Just a thought, I have picky eaters...

Awww, but I love Miracle Whip lol! Sounds good though, and definitely worth experimenting with!

Thanks for including variations sans olives. I am the only one in our family who loves olives. Your variations made me bookmark these for future use and I'm sure they'll be a hit.

Quick and easy and I too like all the variations posted.

These sound good..easy things are great for those spur of the moment get-togethers. which happens at my house often especially with the holidays coming

Well, I don't know...if I have to be creative might not work!!!!!nice post my husband loves these.

This one is going on the Christmas eve treat table!

A gal I worked with brought something similar to our pot lucks. She added a flour tortilla. The tortilla adds strength so you can apply the spread on it and not worry about the ham tearing. You can add a thin slice of pickle and it will stay in place. I know it sounds a bit bland, but they were really good. Your spread ingredients sound even better. Rod

My kid loves these (minus the green olives), he doesn't know what's good. Making them for TG. Thanks for the reminder Krum.
