Fig and Red Wine Jam

- 24 black mission figs, diced into eights shopping list
- 2 cups dry red wine shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- juice of 1/2 a lemon shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Chop your figs very fine
- Put everything in a medium sized saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- Cook uncovered over low heat until thick, about 1-2 hours.
- Stir it occasionally.
- .Makes about 2-2.5 cups.
- Serve with a sharp cheddar and a dense European style bread.
- or just choose yourself.
