A tasty sausage that's very similar to meat. Excellent when served as a sandwich.

This look similar to makng gyro meat, but the spices are different. I have little experience with food from this region other than the following..red peppers stuffed wtih cabbage and pickled and a phyllo dish layered with beef and potatoes. What I do know is that it's good food, and adds to the flavors of a few Ukrainian foods that I have tried. No offiense meant. It's just that people in similar crop regions come up with sort of similar ideas. After all, everyohe on the planet makes food wrapped in a bread dough of some sort. Foood is a unifier for all of us.

This is not Cevapcici recipe at all!!!
Every region in Ex Yugoslavia has its own little secrets how they do it but you never see eggs there, garlick, cayenne pepper or 3 kind of meat!!!
I am in F&B from 1980 and never seen no any famous Serb cook doing it this way!!!
It is the same as doing Pizza from rice or cabage leaves!!!

This has little or nothing to do with čevapčići.
Pork, eggs, baking soda, cayenne pepper?
You should call this experimental-mixed-meat-sausages, not čevapčići.

I have this many time cooked for me by Serbian friends while living in Italy.
Every cook had a different way and yes they used different ground meats. Usually whatever was on hand. I didn't notice any egg being used, but that is not to say that there isn't a Serbian cook out there somewhere who is using eggs.
There is no One version of a recipe. It varies from cook to cook. That's like the American Meatloaf recipe. There are so many different versions and having an added ingredient or leaving an ingredient out doesn't make it any less Meatloaf. :D
