How to make it

  • Cook lentils in boiling salted water ½ hour, drain thoroughly.
  • Combine lentils with beaten egg, herbs, parsley, salt and finely chopped celery.
  • Mix well; form into patties, (if using a food processor don;t turn it into mush pulse gently folks)
  • roll in breadcrumbs
  • saute in hot sunflower oil until browned on both sides
  • **note banana peppers mixed in the patties work well here.

    No ewwwwwwww on this one.. I used to make one kind of like this for my daughter and I.. just seemed to go to the side like lots of recipes.. Will be giving these a try... Will have to sneak them to Hubby... He get's a panic attack if he has no form of meat on the table!

    Great post, Bill...I love lentils too! Better half won't eat them, but he's in the minority...gonna try these for sure!

    I LOVE lentils also. We have them at least once every two weeks. When I saw this recipe it reminded me of my mother, I've been trying to come across a recipe that she used to make with lentils, they were cold and shaped into patties, and then we would eat them on mayo bread. SOO delicious.
