I came up with this recipe years ago after seeing a pork roast prepared this way. I only had chops on hand, so I used chops instead.

Oh yes... chops and kraut are a winner in my books! I have often added apples to my chops and everyone loves the taste. I can't take all these Mimi's I'm seeing - it's like my eyes are playing tricks on me LOL

Love this meal! I cooked this last Sunday, using pork backbone/country style ribs. Thanks for the post!

Growing up in a German household, I thought we had Kraut with EVERYTHING - never had it with pork chops. I look forward to trying this. = )

I make pork and kraut often, but I haven't tried adding apples - I will try this, as I love to "sweeten" my kraut and the apples will add a great flavor. thanks!

Being of PA Dutch heritage we eat this meal often. I've never added anything to the kraut though other than pepper. I've used pork roast and pork chops.......both are good. Thanks for sharing.

Yum, this is the way I usually make country ribs. Except without the mustard, never thought of that. I'll have to try it; I fry chops with regular mustard on them-this should be good :)

This looks great. Could I use smoked pork chops?
