Great recipe... My grandmother was a head cook on a sawmill YEARS AGO. She talked about all the biscuits and gravy the men ate!

I grew up on mashed potatoes and gravy. I was exposed to the method of stirring flour and water (shaken together) into the meat juice to make gravy.
