Taco Pie Recipe
This is a pleasant casserole that can be mild or spicy, depending on the heat of your salsa. I've taken this to family and church dinners and the dish always comes home empty!!

Ingredients
  • 1 can crescent rolls
  • 1 1b. ground beef
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 16 oz. sour cream
  • 8 oz. jar salsa (optional)
  • 8 oz. shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 1.25 oz. bag Fritos, crushed

Directions
  1. 1.Brown and drain the ground beef.
  2. 2.Mix in the taco seasoning with 2/3 c. water and simmer.
  3. 3.Meanwhile, roll out the crescent rolls and cut into 1/4 inch wide strips.
  4. 4.In an 8 x 8" baking dish form a crust on the bottom and sides of the pan. Bake according to package directions.
  5. 5.After the crust is done, turn the oven to 350 degrees. Layer remaining ingredients in the following order:
  6. Ground beef
  7. Salsa (if using)
  8. Sour cream
  9. Cheese
  10. Fritos
  11. Bake at 350 degrees until cheese melts and pie is heated through.
  12. * To make in a 9” x 13” baking dish, I double ingredients for everything except the salsa and sour cream.
