Fudge

- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 cup whipping cream shopping list
- 3 Tbsp. butter shopping list
- 1-1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate shopping list
- Note: I have used unsweetened, milk and white chocolate for this recipe. shopping list
- 2 Tbsp. white Karo syrup shopping list
- 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional) shopping list
- Note: Instead of adding pecans I like to add miniature marshmallows!!! I have even added a combination of maraschino cherries(well drained and quarted) plus marshmallows. shopping list
How to make it
- Grease sides and bottom of 3 qt. heavy saucepan.
- Add sugar, cream, butter, chocolate and Karo syrup.
- Stir, being careful not to get sugar mixture on greased sides of pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook to 230-238 degrees F on candy thermometer, stirring occasionally to keep candy from sticking.
- Remove from heat, pour candy immediately into mixing bowl.
- Add vanilla and beat with mixer until candy loses the gloss.
- Add pecans(optional) and pour into greased an 8 x 8 inch pan.
- Cut when cool.
