Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 CUPS ALL- PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 2 CUPS ROLLED OATES
  • 1/4 CUP SUGAR
  • 4 TSP. BAKING POWDER
  • 1/2 TSP SALT
  • 1/2 CUP CURRANTS
  • 1 EGG-BEATEN
  • 1/2 CUP UNSALTED BUTTER-MELTED
  • 1/3 CUP MILK
  • PREHEAT OVEN TO 425F.

Directions
  1. COMBINE FLOUR,OATES,SUGAR,BAKING POWDER,SALT AND CURANTS IN A LARGE BOWL,MIX WELL.
  2. MAKE A WELL IN THE CENTER
  3. BEAT EGG TILL FROSTY,MIX WITH MELTED BUTTER AND MILK
  4. POUR INTO WELL AND STIR TO MAKE A SOFT DOUGH
  5. DIVIDE IN HALH AND PAT INTO 2 6"-7" CIRCLES
  6. SCORE EACH TOP INTO 8 WEDGES
  7. BAKE FOR 15 MINUTES,UNTIL RISEN AND BROWNED
  8. SERVE WITH BUTTER & JAM OR WITH LEMON CURD.
