This is a favorite appetizer of mine that I have been serving to the family on special occasions. Not only are the stuffed mushrooms extremely delicious they are so easy and quick to make. They disappear very quickly.

I am going to try these but thinking I will add a bit of crisped, crumbled bacon to them. They look yummy.

The crisped, crumbled bacon would definitely make them even better. Let me know how they turn out if you make them.

Adding some crabmeat to the cream cheese really makes this dish incredible

Sounds great! I agree with the bacon...yum! I think it would be a nice twist to add some finely diced apple into the cream cheese mix...with the bacon on top!

My cousin makes a recipe very similar to this (I think she just puts cream cheese into the mushroom caps, and then she pours melted butter and sliced green onions on top), and it's delicious! I will try your variation - I like the idea of not wasting the mushroom stems and also having the onion flavor in the filling.
Oh, I just remembered that my cousin also sprinkles some mozzarella on top when she bakes them - I like that touch as well.

These are so simple and brilliantly delicious - great recipe, Debra! I love them as is and have made them many, many times...but one time I added in some crab meat, grated Asiago cheese and dusted the tops of the stuffed mushrooms with more grated Asiago - delish! That's what I love about this recipe - it's perfect and it's adaptable. Great post! *Smiles*
