This is a favorite appetizer of mine that I have been serving to the family on special occasions. Not only are the stuffed mushrooms extremely delicious they are so easy and quick to make. They disappear very quickly.

I am going to try these but thinking I will add a bit of crisped, crumbled bacon to them. They look yummy.

The crisped, crumbled bacon would definitely make them even better. Let me know how they turn out if you make them.

I love fungi.. this sounds superb!

Sounds great Debra definitely gonna try these.

I also make stuffed mushrooms, a bit different from you. In my blog you can see the recipe.

YUMMY..i loves mushroom, this is going to be on my shopping list for sure...Thanks...

Adding some crabmeat to the cream cheese really makes this dish incredible

Sounds great! I agree with the bacon...yum! I think it would be a nice twist to add some finely diced apple into the cream cheese mix...with the bacon on top!

These sound great! I can't wait to try them... along with some of the variations others have suggested!

I wonder how some hot italian sausage cooked crumbled and smooshed in with the cream cheese would be .....well at any rate they sounds divine as they are but i always play with my food lol .

Sounds great, I am gonna try them.

Well I tried them!...Only one change...I used large portabello mushroom caps and cooked just a little longer. Yummy!!

I love, love mushrooms, that's all i ever order on a pizza is mushrooms.

Don't like onion, but would do bacon also along with
a bit of cheese, sprinkle on top,i think that wold be so good.

My cousin makes a recipe very similar to this (I think she just puts cream cheese into the mushroom caps, and then she pours melted butter and sliced green onions on top), and it's delicious! I will try your variation - I like the idea of not wasting the mushroom stems and also having the onion flavor in the filling.

Oh, I just remembered that my cousin also sprinkles some mozzarella on top when she bakes them - I like that touch as well.

These are so simple and brilliantly delicious - great recipe, Debra! I love them as is and have made them many, many times...but one time I added in some crab meat, grated Asiago cheese and dusted the tops of the stuffed mushrooms with more grated Asiago - delish! That's what I love about this recipe - it's perfect and it's adaptable. Great post! *Smiles*

Cream cheese is a new one on me for stuffed mushrooms. I just might have to try these one day.

Wow - a very healthy recipe. Will surely try this one Debra. I just love mushrooms!!!
